Horseback riding with Breck stables, food at multiple great restaurants, cute little stores with clothes and unique goods, a couple great dispensaries, and BEAUTIFUL hikes to be had in and around the area! Breathtaking views, beautiful town, and friendly locals all made the experience more than we could’ve hoped for!
Breckenridge is a great little town with a ton of restaurants, bars, shops, family activities, and close hikes. You can pretty much walk everywhere in town, but, if driving into town, you will have to pay for parking. There are also many hikes that are a short drive away. Some great places to eat were Ollie's (looks like a boat on the water!) and the Blue Moose or Columbine Cafe for breakfast. Whiskey Star Smoke is great for whiskey lovers. The gondola is free and takes you up to fun family activities (a little pricey though) like miniature golf, trampolines, and alpine slide. Most of the souvenir shops have the same items, so check prices before buying. We did find a stuffed animal for almost $10 cheaper at Shirt Off My Back, but other items were cheaper elsewhere. If visiting in mid to late June, bring an umbrella! Rain comes on quickly and sometimes unexpectedly. Also, bring warm clothes! It got pretty chilly at night and after raining if there was no sun.
We've been coming to Breckenridge on and off for over 30 years. While it's changed a LOT over those years, from a sleepy mountain town to a major tourist destination with tons of new builds (and great new restaurants!), it's managed to still retain some of its quaint mountain-town atmosphere. It's also centrally located to amazing hiking and other out door pursuits. Over the years, we've done hiking, rafting, horseback riding, alpine slides, skiing, summer concerts, and the summer gondola. It can be crowded (traffic, parking, etc.), but we LOVE Breck!
Breck is a great ski hill that caters to every level of skier/boarder. The downtown is amazing with a lot of activity and places to eat and hang out. Downstairs at Eric's was our favorite. Just make sure to feed the parking meter or you will get a ticket! There are a lot of different lodging options and excellent medical care available in case you happen to get hurt on the hill.
Breckenridge is the perfect place for a family vacation. There are easy runs to ski for beginners and the most difficult runs for those with more skill. The town is vibrant, family and pet friendly. The locals are super friendly and welcoming. Getting around was super easy, either with a hotel or resort shuttle or by using Uber. Twist was our favorite restaurant but we enjoyed many others. Spencer’s has a great breakfast Buffett, and we enjoyed Salt Creek Steak House, Sancho’s Tacos, and Kenosha, to name a few others. For anyone with beginner skiers or boarders in their group I’d recommend staying somewhere with access to shorter lift lines than Peak 9. Quicksilver is the only lift at the base of the mountain with access to green runs and the lines were sometimes an hour long. My wife didn’t want to go to Breck, as she prefers the beach and warm weather. All she has said since we arrived and since our return home is that it was the best vacation of her life. She’s now making plans for our entire family to return next year, which includes our 5 adult children and their families.
We have loved Breckenridge for over 40 years, and we now having the chance to make memories with grandkids. Great skiing, sledding, and sleigh rides. The quaint town of Breckenridge perfectly blends the old-west mining town flavor with all of the modern amenities to make for a memorable vacation!

This hotel is downtown, about a 2 minute walk off Main Ave and on corner of Ski Lift Road and Park Ave. It is just a 5 minute walk from Breckenridge Station, which is where the airport shuttles drop off passengers. Breckenridge Station has the Gondola which takes visitors up to Peak 7 and 8 ski areas. It is a 5 minute walk to the Main Plaza. and sits right on the Blue River, which is a nice area. A car is not needed as long as you remain in Breckenridge. City Bus system is excellent, bus stop in front of Condo.

Lots of good things about The Bivvi. It's clean and cozy, the included hot breakfast is very decent, big lockers in the room, nice lounge areas with TVs, an outdoor hot tub, and a great location that's about 15 minutes away from the mountain (and there's a free bus that stops right around the corner). Late check-in was very easy; I called them and they left my key in an envelope at the door. Plus there's a cheap bar and they hold your stuff after check-out.
Breckenridge
Location of this hotel is AMAZING for a summer trip. 1 minute walk to Main Street was perfect for what we needed. Room was clean and well appointed with large kitchen and bathroom. We didnt use the pool or hot tub facilities but they looked good. Car parking was included in the room rate and super easy.
