This is a “work in progress,” but none-the-less, when I was unavoidably delayed and finally rolled up at 03:00, I was greeted with a warm welcome and woke up later that morning in an amazing, traditional4-post bed felling refreshed and ready to go again!

The owners of Big Horn Motel were so friendly and went above and beyond to help us. The only problem was the flies, but there were plenty of fly swatters!

The authenticity of the building brings the Wild West experience to life! (with our appreciation for the modern conveniences). It’s the perfect location for walking this historical town and enjoying other businesses. Plenty of room (and beds) for a family to stay comfortably.

The town itself is relatively small, but the Bighorn National Forest is very close and a spectacular park that has a lot fewer visitors than other regional parks. It is worth exploring if your looking for a scenic adventure that isn't jammed up with traffic like Yellowstone and the Teton's, which are both chaotic and literally stacked with vehicles and visitors during peak summer periods. Banff and Jasper north of the US border are both within a long day of driving from here. While these are also crazily busy they are stunningly beautiful parks that rival anything your see in the states.

Buffalo is a lovely small town.

Buffalo is a lovely small town. Alas, Super 8 , Wyndham was surprisingly disappointing. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was ok but the room was not clean. The floor had hairs and fluff on it and some surfaces were dirty. Yes, it was inexpensive compared with other places we stayed, but a room should be clean non-the-less.

Buffalo is a wonderful little, historic town at the base of the Bighorn Mountains. It is a lovely place to stay. Friendly people and excellent restaurants. We have been coming to Buffalo for the past six years to attend. The annual Longmire Days event held there. Buffalo is truly a slice of paradise.

Buffalo is Beautiful.

Buffalo is Beautiful. The town has always been cute, but they have raised the cute factor by 100%. Unfortunately, we were there for an Interment of my husband's ashes, but the cemetery was also beautiful. Everyone was very friendly and we were quite satisfied with the experience.

Buffalo is a quintessential small, western town.

Buffalo is a quintessential small, western town. Full of folks that exude that wonderful, warm "Western Hospitality" Wyoming is known for. If you are luck enough to be there this summer (July 18-21, 2024) be sure to stay over for Longmire Days. If you don't know Longmire, just keep on driving. Can't speak for other restaurants, but if you enjoy family dining and authentic Mexican food then try and get into Papa Binos for lunch or dinner. This is "FAMILY" dining for real. It's Papa's house with a limited number of tables and family members cooking, serving and the little ones running around in the yard. Terrific food!!!

We didn’t like that we didn’t get the room we booked and it was too late to cancel to find a different place! Also the room was dusted and dirt behind bathroom door that wasn’t ours! Overall the place was okay and staff friendly. I especially liked the young man who provided the breakfast, he was very nice and helpful!

Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean, decent size and had everything you need. Reception shuts at 10.00pm so make sure you have contacted them if arriving late. Food options close by and a nice river walk into down town but BEWARE........THERE ARE NO UBERS OR TAXIS IN BUFFALO! So, if you don't have a car, be prepared to walk or be stuck somewhere. Thankfully the hotel is only half a mile to drag a suitcase to the Greyhound stop.
