Used Cresent City as a gateway to Redwood National/State Parks. Stayed at the Anchor Inn. Had a beach view from the window and it was just down a walkable street to a great Seafood Resaurants on the harbor. The harbor seals and sea lions provided entertainment during our meal. Stayed 2 days which allowed us to experience the drive through the park on Howland Hill Rd.
Crescent City has a lot to offer nature lovers. They also have a good variety of places to eat. We enjoyed walking along the harbor and on the beach. We have our special spots we like to hike to that are nearby. The weather was windy and cold when we were there but we still made the best of it.
Get there before 8pm. Everything closes down early. Small Town. Burger King,Jack in the Box, Safeway, Little Caesars,Papa Murphy's,Elk Valley Casino(24hrs)Rite Aid, Walgreens,CVS, Walmart, Chevron,Shell, Patriot Gas,Ninth Street Liquor and a nice little Burrito Joint.
There were plenty of nearby restaurants to choose to eat from, & plenty of other activities to do in Crescent City, & nearby it. Seeing the Elk, beautiful beaches, Sea World, the Red Woods with Paul Banyan & Babe, all kinds of fun things to see, & do...:) ENJOY! We Did!
Crescent City is a beautiful place to rest up before driving south to explore the redwoods! Take a stroll on Crescent Beach first and collect some sand dollars! Just be aware that food options can be a little slim. After scouring Yelp and visiting several breakfast spots, we still couldn't find a fruit smoothie appropriate to our group's dietary restrictions, so we ended up buying fresh fruit at Safeway.
Charge $50 per per which isn’t stated in the hotel description, kept $99 hold on card for a week afterward. Debris in hallway the whole time we were there, restaurant bad, owner rude, staff clueless and unhelpful.
This hotel was in a great location to get us into Redwood National park very quickly. The room was a little small but clean and comfortable. The best part though was the breakfast. They had a great variety and it was all delicious, a wonderful way to start our day of hiking.
Crescent City
I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Comfortable, friendly staff, unexpected breakfast (mentioned there won´t be but there was even though a small), super cheap laundry service. Would recommend this one.
