The personnel at Econolodge were very friendly, personable and accommodating and enhanced my stay at this facility. The location of the hotel is very convenient to restaurants and stores and other attractions
The waterfalls were beautiful except for a few that was dried up from the heat, we ate at cracker barrel & the food was the best. We couldn't find Bear Creek cabins, the one old cabins dated back 100 years. We did go to Desoto Park, it was nice. The cabins there was not old and families do live in the park year round
I really loved Little River Canyon Falls and the scenic route. This is the first time we have been here so it was good. The only problem I saw was the lack of rain causing the falls to not be as pretty as some of the pics I saw, but overall the trip was a success. We ate at Santa Fe and it was fabulous. They had “Boom Days” this weekend. We enjoyed it too—it was awesome seeing so many people support their community.
Really enjoy this area. Took grandkids to Cathedral caverns, High Falls Park, Desoto Falls and Little River Canyon. After the recent rains there was a lot of water in all the falls. Beautiful scenery! We love to take the kids to places where they can hike and enjoy the outdoors
Nice place, will definitely go back to visit a few places we didn’t realize were there til the day we were leaving. Collinsville trade day (flea market) was a little disappointing considering the animals weren’t there and the colder temps obviously detrerred some sellers from setting up booths. HIGHLY recommend Santa Fe’ Cattle Co for a delicious meal and a great experience.. one of the best we’ve had in a while!
Fort Payne was just an over night stay when visiting the waterfalls in the area. We visited Little River Canyon and De Soto Falls which I recommend. As most know the Band Alabama has their fan club or museum there.
Our King room turned out to be a mini-suite! It was spacious, with a sleeping area, a sitting area with a couch, and a tiny kitchen. There were two TVs, one in each living area. The room was pleasantly decorated and sparkling clean. Breakfast was exceptional for a hotel, featuring a choice of cheese omelets, veggie omelets (delicious!), or scrambled eggs, with sausage.
When we got to hotel the front staff had gone to bank so no one could check us in. It was 4:00 in afternoon and we had to wait 20 minutes for them to return. The hotel was very clean and happy with facility but never been to a hotel that is not staffed for check in or reservations.
We paid more than Double $$ than other hotels on same corner to get Hampton Ammenities. Hampton Beds are advertised as comfortable upgrades, ours were not good. The indoor pool photos looked sparkling clean but was nasty
Hotel was easy to find.
