Located on the Hawaiian island of Kauai, this beachfront resort features a restaurant and bar. Free WiFi is available in all apartments. Beautiful place to stay in luxury , especially during the unusual event of rain. We just curled under the comfortable bed clothes and slept and relaxed 😎
The beach is calm and can be shared by many. The restaurants are fantastic. The farmers markets were the best part. Despite the rainy days at the time of year, we were able to get in outdoor activities daily although you might have your hike in the rain or you beach day shortened. Get your pass early to visit the Na pal I park. Eat at Bar a Cuda and Kauai Uno(reservations a must)
Beautiful, peaceful location. The condos are well appointed. Some are remodeled, others not. The pool is in repair due to last years flood. The restaurant is ok, but the bar had a locals open mic night that was great. I feel it is a little overpriced for the repair condition that is currently in progress. The condos are called two bedroom although the smaller bedroom only has a single bed and in our case only one bath. Some have a 1/2 bath in the small single room. They offer shuttle service which is a great option, although you do need a car to get to the resort.
Hanalei Colony Resort has no TV or phones which is what we wanted. It does have wifi There are beaches everywhere and lots to do locally and south side of the Island. I suggest the jeep rental over other vehicles, plenty of room, 4x4 for the beach and mountain roads. Really good food everywhere you look. Also plan ahead for road travel, roads are narrow and lots of vehicles are here.
The NaPali coast is amazing, and the beaches and bays around Hanalei gorgeous. Hanalei village has some good food options, including the food trucks, and we loved the Tahiti Nui restaurants vibe. We loved the windy narrow roads and the 'old school' Hawaii feel of the north shore, although it may not be for everyone! Our boat trip down the NaPali Coast with HoloHolo, leaving from Hanelei, was fabulous and is one of my best days ever.
Natural Beauty. Small, Personalized Airport. The Quaint, One-Way Bridges!! Hanalei is so awesome. We stayed at Hanalei Colony Resort. That was an unbelievably great value. We were 30 feet from the water, and could hear the surf all night long as we slept. The best food on the island of Kauai is Bubba Burger. A MUST DO is the Capt'n Andy's Na Pali Coast Tour. It's a boat trip to something that looks like you're on another planet, it's so amazing. We saw 14 rainbows during our Sunset Sail, and had free Sneaky Tiki rum punch drinks. Fun. And food served aboard, too. Included in the price. Tunnels Beach is up the beach a half mile, and Kauai abounds with State Parks. The sugar plantations, taro farms, wild pineapples, and fresh fish are everywhere. Can't go wrong with Kauaii, the Garden Island. And it's in the United States. Skip Lemon Grass Restaurant. Fancy Magazine Ads, more flies than food!!!
Something for everyone. Delicious food at all the restaurants but also great stuff to be had at the frequent Farmers Markets if you want to cook food in your own kitchen. You'll save a lot of money if you do this. This is the most beautiful, magical place I've ever visited in my whole life. I hope it does not become too commercialized.
