Carpet in hall ways looked liked people had died on it. Very old, smelled and needs to be replaced immediately, Room, when we got in it the AC was set on 60 degrees, It took us almost 30 minutes with the heat on full blast to get the room back to tolerable!!!! Breakfast seemed skimpy to us.

The area is good. There are a lot of shops and activities. Our personal experience was not a good one at Comfort Inn. Our room was never cleaned. The bathroom was gross. Dirty sticky sink and urine in the toilet upon our initial room inspection. We pulled back the sheets and found debris on the sheets and two of the pillows. It’s as if the sheets and pillowcases were never changed between guest. We changed the sheets by requesting more. We reported everything to the front desk. This place was booked so we couldn’t get a new room. We got in too late to deal with much more. Our stay was horrible. I will say we have had stayed here prior to this and never experienced anything like this. We will never stay here again.

Marietta is a working class town with a small college and a lot of history. The first settlement in the Ohio Territory and one the Mason-Dixon line, with West Virginia across the river. Authentic historical sights without tourist makeup and hype. Nice relaxing place, but I was working nearby, so I didn't have any time to take on extras. At river level, so the humidity can be a factor depending on the ambient temperature.

Marietta is full of interesting museums and historical sites. One of the top attractions is Campus Maritas Museum; it provides a good overview of the early days of the city. We were sorry to see that the Ohio River Museum was closed while a new one is being built.

Marietta is a fun little city with a lot of history and scenery, and the Ohio River with its big barges is interesting to watch. It's OK for a big diesel to wake you up in the middle of the night, because the rooms have great views and it's good to see a big tow go by in the dark. The Wilds is only a short drive away and if you're not staying at The Wilds a room in Marietta is a good idea.

There are some unique shops in downtown Marietta: from antiques and marketplaces to coffee and pizza shops, there is something for everyone. There are historic museums and hotels, and beautiful views over the waterfront, it has a lot of small-town charm. We especially enjoyed Jeremiah's Coffee House, A Unique Flower and Gift Shop and Anitque Mall of Marietta.

Great location right beside the Ohio River in Marietta's historic, walkable, appealing downtown and nearby elegant residential area, with easy walking access to bridges across both the Ohio and Muskingum Rivers; convenient free parking; creatively restored entrance, lobby, restaurant, bar and ballroom; responsive, friendly staff; satisfying meals at both dinner and breakfast; quiet; comfortable bed; clean - especially the restored & modernized bathroom - with superb shower.

The location is perfect, right downtown, along the river. The rooms have a great view.
The hotel is historical and beautiful. There's a beautiful terrace one can have access to from the 3rd floor, where you can have a nice view of the river and of part of the town; one can smoke there.

Rooms were super clean and comfortable. Had a small dog too and he was very comfortable too. No previous dog smells which would of made him anxious as we ran into that at another hotel. ( Not a holiday inn) Breakfast was good .
