The hotel was easily accessible from the main road. Check in was quick and friendly. The room was clean, the pool and hot tub were nice both being at good temperatures.

Mio has a world of things for the outdoor enthusiast!

Mio has a world of things for the outdoor enthusiast! Kayaking or canoeing in the spring/summer/fall, off-road adventures all-year through, snowmobiling, camping, fishing, hunting...it is all there!!! Add to it some nice eateries and a charming small-town atmosphere, Mio is a great place to take your family or couples to get some quality down time. Mio is also nicely situated within reasonable driving distance of Lake Huron, Mackinac City & Bridge, as well as other Northern Michigan favorites like Alpena, Ocqueoc Falls State Park, Grayling, and Gaylord just to name a few. The Au Sable river is renowned for its clear cool waters, beauty throughout its entire corridor, and abundant fishing opportunities. I will also highly recommend hitting up Mio Pizza Shop with the big pink elephant out front. It's a small unassuming family-owned shop that serves up some delicious pies and their highly addictive Dots. All in all, My family and I have been going to Mio, Michigan for many years and we always look forward to returning to its beauty, kind people, and abundant opportunities for lots to do and see!

Nice town with multiple eating options, very nice grocery.

Nice town with multiple eating options, very nice grocery. Located on the trophy waters of the Au Sable river. There's a small fly shop at the canoe livery. Had breakfast at the Daily Grind coffee shop, good espresso.

The area is nice with the river, damn, and small stores.

The area is nice with the river, damn, and small stores. Things are quite this time of year (end of winter). The restaurant we ate at was good and the service was pleasant. The local stores were not overpriced and their employees were pleasant.
