Oakland Marriott City Center, hotel in Oakland

This hotel is located across the street from the BART Subway System which provides easy access to downtown San Francisco. Guest rooms include cable TV with HBO film channels.

The location is excellent. Across the street from BART, walking distance to Jack London Square and a ton of restaurants and coffee shops nearby. Friendly staff who loved our three year old. We never felt unsafe, but we were always out during daylight. The room was very nice. Comfortable beds, nice shower, tub for our kid. There was a great view of the port of Oakland, SF, Bay, and hills (seventh floor). I would stay here again.

Oakland airport is good but the city of Oakland, CA just sucks and it always has, you see I grew up in San Francisco. Your property is nice to stay at but the city it's self dirty and crime infested and I have always known this so nothing surprised me on my trip.

This was my birthday weekend. Went to Millennium restaurant for dinner and then True Food Kitchen for lunch the next day. Acre was another good place for drinks. It was fabulous to get out of the Sacramento 100% weather

I want to make this clear: Oakland is a terrible city- trash and homeless people are everywhere and you have to be very careful all the time (it’s reputation is well deserved), but I had a wonderful time on this trip because I stayed on the Embarcadero, which is nothing like the rest of the city. The Executive Inn and Suites is a great place to stay and the views from their waterfront rooms are fantastic. You will feel completely safe there; not a homeless person in sight! You can quickly get to anywhere from there as the freeway is very convenient .

I will try my best not to go to Oakland again.

I will try my best not to go to Oakland again. It was extremely hot and muggy, though got nicer near the water. I found a little beach to park at but apparently that’s where people go to smoke weed because that’s all I smelt coming from the parking lot. All the streets were filthy with trash and god knows what and the walls are covered in graffiti, not even decent graffiti as well. I definitely did not feel safe and I also had a guy literally follow me in his car from my hotel to the freeway exit for the airport. No thanks, Oakland. That’s not how I’m gonna go out.

I just loved Oakland!the city has a bad reputation and that is farthest from the truth!first of all,EVERY city has a bad part of town where crime occurs maybe more than other parts of the city! I talked with dozens of people from there who were very personable;helpful; friendly everyone was awesome!!loved Oakland!!

We like to see shows at the Fox Theater, and when we do, we stay at the Moxy hotel and walk there. There are several great eateries in the neighborhood. I recommend HotBird if you like fried chicken! We have never felt unsafe walking this neighborhood. There are a lot of homeless people, which is sad to see.

As a former Oakland resident, I can assure you that the value and location of this hotel are second to none. Clean rooms, comfy bed, kind staff. If you're looking for luxury, the Marriott across the street will happily charge you 3x the price for their version of it. But if you're more "no frills" and enjoy vintage details (i loved the old kitschy elevator), look no further. Also, ample parking.
