Lucky to find this one on arrival in Bar Harbor in peak leaf peeping season. If you like history, this place is for you. Two town houses beautifully converted into bed and breakfast accommodation with historic furniture and hiding away just behind the main street. Staff could not have been more pleasant and helpful, especially Marina (all the way from Serbia) and Walker. Breakfasts are cooked to order - very nice and original but not contemporary US breakfasts. Forget the brick, glass and concrete hotels and come and stay here. Highly recommended.

I couldn’t have chosen a better destination than Bar Harbor Manor — it was, without question, the highlight of my two-week road trip. From the moment I arrived, everything about the property impressed me: the tranquil setting, warm atmosphere, and the exceptional rooms. I was even surprised with an unrequested room upgrade, which was such a delight. The lobby has a wonderfully welcoming atmosphere. I especially enjoyed starting my mornings there with a coffee in hand, planning the day ahead. But what truly sets Bar Harbor Manor apart is the outstanding staff. Sydney and Constance were incredibly kind and attentive, going above and beyond to make me feel not just comfortable, but genuinely welcome. In a gesture that still amazes me, Sydney even accompanied me on a hike — not only as a fantastic guide, but as a truly lovely person to share the time with. Her warmth, enthusiasm, and generosity of spirit are a true credit to the hotel. I’m not sure where else you’d find that kind of hospitality, but I feel very lucky to have experienced it here. Sincere thanks to everyone at Bar Harbor Manor for making my stay so special.

The staff were so nice and did whatever they could to make us happy. The manageress herself went to shop for vegan items for me for breakfast! Greig, the shuttle driver, was always on hand to drop us off in town or pick us up from a restaurant when we’d finished our meals and always so friendly. The pantry was stocked with great complimentary snacks and bottled mineral water, perfect to take on hikes. Trekking poles were freely available to borrow for the hikes. There was always delicious “afternoon tea” waiting for us when we got back from our hikes . The bedroom was so spacious and the view was lovely!
