The nice woman running breakfast was very cheerful and it helped to make the day start off well for all of us!
This area in Vermont is a great quiet spot to just go out and drive through the countryside. Beautiful streams, mountains, gorgeous homes, and just nature in general. Maple, Maple, Maple everywhere so if you love maple you will definitely be in the right place. Club VT is our favorite place for Lunch and Dinner and the hotel right there on the property is so convenient to it all. Hotel is The Putney Inn. Would highly recommend this area.
The mountains around Putney and quaint little towns and covered bridges, etc., make it a very nice place to tour from. Love the Putney Co-op. What a nice store! Great small town gathering place. Has a deli and place to dine, if you want breakfast/lunch.
I loved the dining place near the Putney Inn. Their food was delicious. Getting around Putney was easy as pie. It was the perfect distance from Landmark. I don't have any children because I'm under the age but me, my mom and my brother drove to a nearby gas station, a grocery store. My activity that I have experienced so far is visiting Landmark College which is a fun place! I hope to go back before I go to Landmark in August!
Putney is a great Vermont country town, just off Rt 91. Super easy to get to. The Putney General Store is a must see. Its the oldest in Vermont but completely rebuilt a few years ago. It looks great. We had a delicious meal at the Gleanery, and the Co-op was fun to shop at. The town has a lot to see and do.
Though advertised as a Restaurant and Inn, there is no restaurant, just a Continental breakfast that was not much to speak of. The rooms, though, were beautiful and clean and comfortable, and the Patel's were very friendly. We booked this last minute, and there wasn't much else available, but other than the lack of restaurant, we were not disappointed.
They did some great renovations on the place. I think as soon as they get the restaurant re-open, do a little landscaping and get an ice machine-the place will be a perfect Vermont getaway! The staff was very nice-and the value is great. There is a wonderful co-op general store nearbye and some farm stands. Very close to Brattleboro which is a great little town for shopping and dining.
