The room having 2 sinks was definitely a plus, as well as the vinyl wood-like flooring (much preferred to carpet).
I was also pleased with the fridge and microwave, which were clean and functioned above average. The room was clean, as well. The older heater worked great and I was grateful it didn't cause a gas leak or blow up, lol.

The room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was not included, but we went to the grocery store and bought food. There were lots of options for restaurants around. We ate at Mad & Vin, the hotel restaurant, on the first night for dinner. It was very good.

Christmas atmosphere certainly added to the charm of the place - not sure what Solvang would be like outside of the Christmas season.
Found it difficult to find savoury pastry items - most items were sweet.
Serving sizes of meals in most venues were as usual far too big - best to share.
Felt very safe walking around, even late at night.
The guitar chord pub/music venue in Copenhagen street needs more publicity/visibility - very few patrons turned up on the evening we were there which was a great shame as the performing artist was really good.

Solvang is such a unique town, from the architecture, the cuisine, and the local shops. It's a little getaway to old Europe. The hotels are so quaint. You are also near Paso Robles wine country - the best wines in California in my opinion. I highly recommend staying here. This was our second time and we would go back in a heart beat. Almost everything is in walking distance.

For me, Solvang was an overnight trip as part of a longer road trip. I have been to Solvang many times, so no need to stay longer. ADVICE to those who may not know - many businesses in Solvang are closed a couple days early in the week (I think Tues and Wed), so you may want to check before planning your trip to see if things you want to do will be open. My favorite places are Osteria Grappolo and Birkholm Bakery (both for the food and the staff!).

It was an exceptional experience!
It was an exceptional experience! The visitor center was a wealth of information. She even played the accordion for us -playing a polka. Over 200 shops to taste, experience, laugh and shop. The surrounding area is gorgeous and will definitely be going back.

Solvang is a cute and quaint town filled with boutiques, wineries, restaurants, and bakeries. I enjoyed visiting Ostrichland before entering the main street of Solvang. Most of the restaurants served American and Scandinavian food, there were a few restaurants that served other food such as Mexican and Japanese. There were many bakeries and coffee shops and a handful of small museums. Everything is walkable and you can have a thorough experience in the town in two days/a weekend.

The King Fredrik was a great location, right in the heart of this Danish Town.
The staff were super friendly and welcoming.
The room was lovely, I particularly loved the wave/rain/thunder/ noise machine, what a great touch.
Would defo recommend this hotel :)
The room was spacious and very comfortable. Check in and out was easy.
Quiet room. The recliners in most rooms are so much better than most hotels chairs and make the stay seem homey. And I hate watching tv in bed!
Loved this hotel, it was clean and comfortable, wished I had stayed more than one night. Solvang is a lovely little town and well worth a visit and this hotel is in the perfect location.
Very quiet, situated at the end/ beginning of Solvang but still within walking distance of every restaurant or shop for example. Nice and clean interior.
