United StatesMy room had been completely redone ..carpeting, bed, furniture, bathroom, microwave, TV., light fixtures...everything was brand new. The entire motel is being completely redone. Breakfast had waffles. 4 kinds of juice, coffee, cereal, prepackaged muffins and pastries, hard boiled eggs, oatmeal, fruit, etc. It was very quiet. All sorts of shopping, restaurants, etc within a 5-10 minute drive.

From what we saw, Yankton is a very clean city.

It was easy to get around in the city. Streets are well marked.
Lighting at night is very good.
We did a little shopping in our spare time. There was a nice strip mall within walking distance of our motel.

Yankton is not a vacation place for me, my husband grew up...
Yankton is not a vacation place for me, my husband grew up here and his parents lived here so we have come to Yankton many times over the last few decades. This was probably our last trip for a while as we buried my husband's father during this trip. I don't think I can adequately review Yankton as my opinions are biased. It's a small midwestern farming town. If you like that, then you will like Yankton.

The water is the best but the cops there are horrible they just sit and camp because their so bored with their jobs. The town could use more resturaunts like chillies, Chipotle, a buffet something its all the boring ones like McDonald's and Burger King and dairy queen not much to do but drive around or walk the old bridge by the old brewery on walnut Dr.

We take a family vacation every summer for boating at the Lewis and Clark Reservoir. Yankton is an excellent city to have nearby for supplies and dining. Everything is close by and easy to access. The Visitor Center on the Nebraska side of the dam is beautiful. The pictures are of the Nebraska side toward the east end of the lake.

Yankton is a modern town with elements of the 50’s (a vibrant and functioning downtown). It is easy to move about in and the small town way of life is interesting. It has everything you would find in a larger city. There are good restaurants and a tour of the park on the river is a must, it is pristine and so relaxing, would love to spend time there. We decided a good description of Yankton is “Heartland of America”. The locals were as interested in us as we were them and appreciated our compliment of their friendliness.

Make sure you check out your room.... we did not notice a...
Make sure you check out your room.... we did not notice a smell coming from the bathroom until later that evening.. We had been gone all day from check-in ( about2 pm) until about 7 pm.. came back and had a very bad smell from bathroom... thought it would go away if we turned of the vent fan... only got worse and then was too late to call anyone to come .. waited until 6 am . left message about issue.. someone showed up at 8 am... by then I was nauseated and had a horrible headache from the smell all night.. Had to put towel by bottom of door and open the window ( IT WAS COLD).. Left for several hrs while he replaced a bad ring for sealing the odor and tightened the toilet that was loose.. It was sewer gas coming through all night... They did not offer us any compensation for the night we spent in that bad smell... The toilet was fixed on our last day... that was fine... My issue is .. they did not offer us anything off our room for putting up with that for a whole night...

Friendly staff, good breakfast, and a clean house. A nice quiet and comfortable sleep.
A handout with things to do and places to see and suggested restaurants is so handy.
Walked the old bridge and town. Lovely!
We picked a staff favorite of a Mexican Restaurant within walking distance from the hotel, and it has the best Chicken Fajitas I have had in years!!

Good standard hotel breakfast, the location is on the main street going through all of the businesses in Yankton, beds were comfortable and room was roomy and quiet. I don't have any complaints. Would stay here again.

Best place to stay during their off season we got a 3 bedroom cabin for the same price as a 2 queen bed hotel room. Our cabin was right on the lake with a beautiful view!!
