Long Sands Beach is much larger than Short Sands.
Long Sands Beach is much larger than Short Sands. Great to walk and swim Long Sands. The tide does come in and the beach room is much smaller. Short Sands Beach is too crowded due to its size but close to stores and restaurants. I prefer Long Sands.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
York Beach is an amazing place to vacation.
York Beach is an amazing place to vacation. The people are friendly and easy to get along with. There are other people vacationing in York that might be a bit stressed on Saturday but for the most part things calm down and are very enjoyable the rest of the week. Do a little shopping... have some taffy... grab a cocktail or a coffee and watch the ocean. You have to eat lobster and it is best from the source. There are multiple locations you can visit with access to a peer and a pot of boiling water. You get the idea. Not everything is on the beach or beachside. York Beach is a great place to stay!
York Beach is a great place to stay! In addition to Long Sands, where our motel was located, there are lots of convienent, affordable restauants. In addition, there are many attractions nearby, most reachable by walking. We stayed at the Cutty Sark motel, located right on Long Sands Beach. My wife and me were both extremely pleased with this motel. The motel is literally steps away from the ocean, which afforded fantastic views. The room was impeccably clean, the staff warm and friendly, and the price for our two night stay quite reasonable. In addition, we were literally steps away from the beach, local area restaurants and attractions. We highly recommend staying at this establishments.
