despite everything that we say about security, we had no problems. It is enough to keep low profile, as little jewelry as possible and keep your money safe and not show it off. Caracas is a city full of surprises and many activities are offered We love the cable car to Mount Avila and the view of the guaira
Even though the economical situation is hard, it´s nice to see warm people, lots of trees, different kinds of birds and less traffic in this city. I love the weather and hope to see more places around.
You can only pay in dollars and not every establishment accept dollars, you can't change dollars in Bolivares, not in a bank not at supermarkets, green for green, macaracuay is a quiet safe neighborhood. In supermarkets is everything to buy for, no problem.
Caracas is amazing city even with all politics and social problems... I could find everything. I had amazing nights around the nightclubs. I can indicate to gay people the clubs like Cool Cafe and Copas. I can indicate to strength people the club Sawu. Most of the places accepts dólar and Euro in the change of the day. The public transport I can’t recommend cause I never used. But I know it is very bad, dirty, dangerous and destroyed. My main tip for who is coming for caracas is: BRING Notes IN 1 dollar MAXIMO AS YOU CAN. Because almost everything costs 1,2 dollars and they don’ change you back. And if they do they will do in Venezuela currency which is very low and difficult to use because it everyday changes.
There was nothing good to say about Caracas at this time. It is fraught with problems the biggest of which is you can’t get hold of local cash legally or illegally. They’ve simply run out so you will spend your entire time worrying about this problem and not enjoying Caracas at all. The people I met were however kind and thoughtful but you wonder how they can possibly exist with the huge monetary issues Venezuela faces.
Caracas
I had an excellent stay here for almost a week in total. Very nice atmosphere, good food, very clean, the nice balcony is every morning visited by macaws. The hotel is run by a family, they are very friendly and helpful, the son speaks excellent English. Also they can help you with transportation
Great location, Bar, Swimming pool, “Best Breakfast in Caracas” with national & international items, friendly service, front desk & serving staff speak English, dinner menu very good, pricy though, but that is Venezuela, great atmosphere during Christmas & New Year period…
amazing pool. wish I had more than an afternoon to swim there. staff seemed annoyed by the presence of a gringo, kind of disrespectful. rooms were fine but had a musty smokers smell. loved the interior design of the hotel. amazing wooden panels with brilliant lights/mirrors.
- friendly and english-speaking staff, able and willing to help and organise almost everything - reliable and safe taxi service (airport, tours) - one of the few safer and better areas in caracas - walking distance to shopping malls and restaurants
variation of food. we asked to change rooms, because the back view is really unpleasant, the administration changed rooms the next day because all the rooms were supposedly taken. We had a room with a better view, front facade of the hotel. Thank you
Well located hotel. The lady manager at the breakfaste restaurant (saturday dec 5th around 9 am) was very very attentive, she's from Trujillo (vzla) and was super kind and courteous.
