This place is truly a 10 out of 10, I've been on this Earth for 33 years and have not been to such a magical place. Everything from the owners to the staff to the lodge and of course of the zebras in his beyond your comprehension. I would highly recommend anyone to go out of their way to experience what we experienced. I have stayed at hotels that cost over $1,000 a night and this one is by far the most magical. This place tells a story of a couple who wanted to live a life by their own means and share it with the world.

This place is spectacular! I arrived as a solo traveler but I'm already planning to return with my husband and friends next time. The staff go above and beyond – from welcoming you with a drink to offering advice for a walk. The staff clearly like to make their guests happy and they were so fun to talk with! Dinner was exceptional; it was the best meal I had in South Africa. The menu has many courses and options to choose from. The kitchen accommodated by dietary restrictions without question – thank you! I highly recommend going for a late afternoon/dusk stroll and sunrise walk. It is safe; the animals keep a healthy distance. I saw impalas, blue wilderbeest, giraffes, and zebras on my walks. There is a great 5km roundtrip walk to a viewing platform on the back of the property - amazing views of the river and valley area at sunset. At sunrise, most of the animals were gathered on the front lawn. Other things you can do on the property: Take a dip in the infinity pool, sun bathe on the deck, request a drive of the property if you don't prefer to walk, read some books (they have many on wildlife and the history and culture of SA), sit by the fire, enjoy the cigar lounge, order a drink at the bar (it seems to have everything and you can ask for a drink anytime) and sit outside by the firepit. I wish I stayed for several more days to do it all!

the views property are beautiful. the bed and furnishings were very comfortable. And the access to the beach was great.
