The guest house front desk was full of good information and the staff was extra helpful with any questions. The property is nicely located, has nice accomodations, and is in a beautiful town.

What a beautiful, spacious, and clean property for a stay in Takayama! It was perfect for our family, close to grocery stores and only a short 10-15 minute walk to restaurants and the train station. We were lucky enough to be the only group that was booked during our stay, and it was exceptional. The house offered a little slice of what country life is like but still have the accessibility to a decent sized town. The Japanese garden was relaxing, and having a little family shine out back by the woods really made the property even more special. We took the tatami room and I was afraid that it might be uncomfortable, but it was some of the best sleep I had during our trip. If you plan to take a bus there, take the H02 or H03 (Hirayu s Hiohotaka line - stop H14) and walk about 10 minutes. He property itself has 3 rooms that the owner rents out, 2 tatami rooms and 1 western style room. There is a full kitchen downstairs, a bathtub, and a separate washroom, which was a nice touch since it allowed us to do our thing without having to wait for the toilet/shower. On our last night, we cooked a little meal and enjoyed it in the traditional dining rood.
