Nice hotel in quiet area, near great dinner is Mackie restaurant, friendly and welcoming staff. He gave me a good hug to welcome us. the room is clean with lovely balcony. It would be a good choice of you to stay there.

Location is really good and the place is clean and of course the staff is just wonderful. if you are working remotely you can find a workspace in the second floor with a balcony and they have good internet connection.

Love the owner of the hostel!!! The gentleman helped us checked in offered a lot of help later on. He and his daughter are soooo sweet!!! The room and bed linen is clean, and there is curtain to keep privacy.

A very safe place at a great quiet location. Easy to get around by bus. Staff was extremely helpful and ready to help with anything I needed. Although I stayed at a dorm, when I needed a private space to work for few hours, they arranged it with no hassle. Free laundry was a big plus! Common areas were quite clean.

I think this will be the best hostel in Colombo once finished but during my stay (February 2025) it was still being made up so I cannot wholeheartedly recommend it without mentioning that it didn’t seem to have staff and it was the workers on site who called around to get info on who I was and where to put me. The price, however, absolutely reflected that. On the other hand, it was already the most modern hostel I stayed in Sri Lanka, with curtained beds, equipped with personal lamps and sockets, massive lockers, superb bathrooms, and quite decent kitchen. Even with the ongoing works, it was quiet and clean.

I stayed at Saseya Poshtel for 2 nights and it was honestly an amazing experience. The architecture and design are truly unique—something you don’t usually find in Sri Lanka, especially in a hostel setting. I originally booked for one night, but I loved it so much that I extended for another day. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and they arranged my extension very smoothly. What really surprised me was the number of facilities and comfort offered at such a low cost. From the clean and cozy rooms to the well-thought-out common areas, everything felt modern and stylish. The location is perfect, making it easy to explore Colombo. Honestly, this felt like a luxury experience on a budget, and it’s now one of my favorite stays ever in Colombo. Highly recommended for solo travelers, backpackers, or anyone looking for something a little different!

Colombo downtown monkey is centrally located in the heart of Colombo just a short 5-minute walk from you Colombo’s main Railway and Bus Station. Guests can also check-out the peaceful Beira Lake.

We've stayed here twice now when passing through Colombo. This is the perfect backpackers hostel - walking distance from Colombo Fort Station and the Central Bus Stand. It's budget friendly and best of all offers 24 hour check in, so it's the best for when you've got off a train or plane at 3am and need somewhere to crash for a few hours. Both times we arrived at 4am and were let in and checked in with no hassle. They also offer free breakfast which sets you up the next day when you're probably very sleepy from arriving so late. They have a nice communal kitchen/dining area and the free breakfast is a great time to meet other people travelling round Sri Lanka and get tips on where to go. The staff are also super lovely, friendly and accommodating. We left behind a towel on our first visit and they put it aside for us and kept it so we could collect it on our return. Couldn't ask for more!
