Everything was great! The guy who runs it is amazing. By far the best hostel host I’ve come across. I wanted to rent a motorbike for a day but the rental company was closed for the week. So he let me borrow his own bike for the day! For free! He also let me use his laundry machine for free. All around great experience. Speaks great english too.

If you go by the other reviews of the hostel it can feel a mixed bag of a place with a huge variation of opinion. Yes it's true the place is humble and every hostel is unique in its own way. Run by a kind elderly lady with little English ( no problem for me) this place is just perfect if you are looking to stay cheap or stay till late night if you want to avoid paying hotel for full day in case you have a night train or bus out of Khon Kaen. Let's be honest, it's 150 baht a night and we can't complain on that price. It's reasonably clean and comfortable place since I have stayed in shittier place for the price. Aircon runs 6:00 pm to 9:00 am. Have wifi and the receipion doubles up as a small restaurant where you can get basic meals or find many restaurants and a seven eleven nearby. Close to railway station, just a short walk from the fantastic night market by the lake, have good cafe ( B13 Coffee Slow Bar) and what else do you need?
