Maslin Beach is clean, easy 10 min walk to the main beach from nearby accomodation, there are picnic areas close to the beach with BBQ facilities and a playground area for young children. There are great walks along the cliff from Maslin Beach to Aldinga town nearby. Maslin is very peaceful, no traffic noise and is close to McLaren Vale Wine district and other historical towns such as Clarendon. We were there in mid January, and managed to see the beginning of the Women's Santos Bicycle road race near Adelaide, and the Salvador Dali Sculptures and Graphics Exhibition at d'Arenberg Wineries in McLaren Vale.

Maslin Beach is one of the most geographically beautiful...

Maslin Beach is one of the most geographically beautiful beaches in South Australia. The gorgeous cliffs show such interesting layers while the sea is such a vibrant blue on a clear day. It is a stunning spot to watch the sun set, go for a dip and even a stroll along the beautiful beach. The northern end of Maslin beach is a favorite among families, with plenty of summer beach magic to be explored and shared. If you choose to venture down the southern end where the rolling hills become cliffs which meet the sea, you will find Australia's oldest nudist beach. Generally it is a friendly place where the locals stop to say hello in a polite, respectful manner.

A small seaside community in an idyllic location probably lacking in entertainment, shopping and dining facilities within walking distance for most. Five kilometres in either direction brings into play pubs, cafes and supermarkets which suited us perfectly.
