On Tasmania's Heritage List, and one of Hobart's most beautiful old buildings, Roxburgh House combines the charm of classic architecture with the comforts and technology of today. Located in the heart of happening Hobart - MidTown - so no need for a car - just walk a few hundred metres to the CBD or take public transport from right outside the door. Relax in the front garden or on the balcony to soak up the lively neighbourhood vibe.
About the host I love Tasmania! Born and bred here, I'm passionate about old buildings with a history, walking in beautiful parts of the world, including Tasmania and lots around Hobart. Also I loved singing in my community choir until recently. I enjoy cooking and foodie events, realestate has been a life long interest, (culminating in my development of The Rox in 2018-21!) I enjoy sailing the Derwent River and the Tasmanian coastline from time to time. I worked in tourism marketing for some years before taking more time to smell the roses and enjoy my enjoy my family, ie my two daughters and 6 grandchildren. I know about many of Tasmania's hidden secrets and little gems - which I'm happy to share with my guests! "Carpe diem"- seize the day is my philosophy!
The surrounding meighbourhood is the most interesting part of the city of Hobart. It is the part most loved and frequented by locals with its mix of edgy bars, and cafes, late night haunts, heritage buildings and the most authentic small shops in Hobart, ie not just the regular tourist traps, but where the locals go for shopping. A diverse range of local products including homewares, baby specialties, outdoor stores, music shops, sewing, bike specialists and much more!
