Robert and Gaily
A Restored settler's cottage from about 1910. Situated in a country Cull de Sac in the valleys of Mount Woolumbin or as Captain Cook called it, Mt warning as it gets the first sun hitting Australia. Great country roads with little traffic. Very suitable for cycling and walking. 35 minutes from Byron Bay, with private white sand beaches only 20 minutes away Large King and Queen bedrooms supplemented by fold out double couch. Very private or open, the choice is yours. The natural verandah has a hammock, couch, chairs, dining table perfect for the morning coffee or evening glass of wine. You look out over a little garden and the valley from here. New fast Satellite Starlink internet and Satellite TV. Fireplace, fans, original art, ancient timber floors, An outdoor table setting. Abundant spring water on tap. Plenty of parking for several cars at least and accommodation for a caravan if you ask, We are pet friendly and in a natural environment.
Rob and Gaily have filled this little house with Gaily's original art and objects. Much of which is for sale. If the art interests you, we can show your more as our house is like a Gallery and just 500 meters further up the Driveway. Gallery is by invitation so please notify us for a viewing. Both Rob and Gail are long term residents of this region and can offer advice on travels and things to do.
This area being part of the Caldera of Mt Warning/Woolumbin (An extinct) volcano from 50 million years ago has provided beautiful soils in a lush environment which lends itself to most agricultural pursuits, Passion fruits, Dairy, cattle and many horses. Beautiful Brunswick Heads is about 20 minutes and an interesting place to visit with many river and beach-oriented activities with many restaurants to choose from. Burringbar is a hive of activity at most times with its general store Post Office, Specialist wine tasking and buying The Burringbar Thai restaurant opens on Thursday and the sports club, a traditional venue is open most nights. And not forgetting the Moobal Pub for an Australian traditional meal. There is a very good Butcher in town along with roadside produce shops. We recommend a supermarket shop before your arrival. You will need a car or Motor bike to get around. We are 35 Mins from Byron Bay and 20 odd minutes to the local beach. There are many natural attractions in this region.
