Mountain Heritage Hotel, hotel in Katoomba

Perched on the edge of a ridge, 984 feet from the heart of Katoomba’s town center, this 4.5-star hotel offers panoramic views of the World Heritage Blue Mountains.

- Best location with magnificent view from lounges and bar area anytime, and from dining room each morning at breakfast, plus easy walk to main street of Katoomba for restaurants & shops. - Hotel has a new manager since our last stay: David and the staff were friendly, helpful, and keen to ensure we enjoyed our 3-night stay - upgrading us as return guests to the HUGE Tower Heritage Suite, so our standard room booking was extremely good value! - This traditional guest house has old-style charm, K-bed was v. comfortable, shower/spa bath was great with gorgeous-scented toiletries (see pic), gas fireplace + A/C kept us cosy, and WiFi, Foxtel & Coffee pod gizmo all worked. - The Jamison Views restaurant is a treat, so we indulged fully every morning (see pics including breakfast waffles with grilled banana, salted caramel & whipped sour cream, and excellent coffee) & booked for dinner on our last night (Thurs), 2 courses with recommended wine for each: all truly delightful.

This historic boutique hotel, in the heart of Katoomba-Blue Mountains, features 2 separate guest lounge areas, and a sauna. Complimentary WiFi is provided in all communal lounge areas.

Love the look of the place very much modern Michelle is a star - warm and welcoming upon check-in. Great recommendations of the area and what would be great for the evening. She definitely deserves a raise. The bed was comfy and the bathrooms were huge. The air conditioning worked a treat. We stayed in King Room facing the road. No road noise - a lot of ambient light due to the sign but the curtains blocked it out.

We did a lot of hiking in national park forest and it was raining everyday but that didn't discourage us. You just feel like continuing to the next attraction and the next and the next.......before you know it you are deep in the forest. I loved it! Loved!! God willing i am going back.

Katoomba main street is still struggling after covid with quite a few empty shop fronts however mother nature and her spectacular views make up for this. Scenic World as the main draw is always worth the trip and Nocturnal event is a new way to experience the Valley. Of course Echo Point and 3 sisters are a must as is Govetts Leap lookout. So many pretty towns around like Leura and if you have time take a little side teip to Lithgow. Highly recommend this trip. Parking is an issue around the town centre and usual tourist attractions but worth dealing with anyway.

    Direct train from Sydney.

Direct train from Sydney. Very quaint traditional old mining town, old fashioned 'high street' with plenty of places to stay and eat. We stayed in the grand Carrington Hotel which has a lot of history as part of the evolution of the town. Our main reason for visiting was to easily access the Katoomba based hop-on/off bus to visit The Blue Mountains. This worked perfectly and as well as seeing Katoomba and the blue Mountains, we also got to visit the pretty neighbouring village of Leura which is included in the route. We felt we made a very good choice.

Katoomba has everything you will need or find in a regional town. The large supermarkets are available and open for longer hours for groceries (Aldi, Coles, Woolworths). The shops and restaurants close early, so check times and organise around that. There are limited number of restaurants and eateries in town. We ate at Rustico - this place is almost always full (even on weekdays) - best book ahead. We had one sunny day out of 3 days. Luckily that was enough to visit Scenic World, do the rides and walk around. We recommend taking the Blue Mountains Explorer Bus (hop-on hop-off) to minimise driving. There are many easy to medium walks along the clifftops.

The new Cliff Top walk to Wentworth Falls was excellent.

The new Cliff Top walk to Wentworth Falls was excellent. Just right level for me. It would be good if the shuttle buses went to Gordon Falls and Leura as I had to walk back along the roads a lot. Also access to the walk at Scenic World was closed, which was annoying as the walk is advertised to start there. It was Easter Sunday and very busy but this should have been made clear perhaps with signs at Katoomba Falls where the walk actually started from. I ate at 8 Things, great value and the RSL which was not so great. The Pool of Siloam is one of the best things in the mountains I discovered this weekend.

Staying at this hotel is like being wrapped in a cozy blanket of luxury, with views that could make even the most seasoned traveler pinch themselves just to check if it's real. The scenery outside the window is so stunning, it's like Mother Nature hired a personal decorator. And let's talk about the rooms - they're so lovely, I half expected them to tuck me in at night and read me a bedtime story. It's like sleeping in a cloud made of marshmallows and dreams.

We have stayed here several times and love the place. It is very central in Katoomba and our room was spacious and well set up with a small kitchen ,iron etc. This hotel is old and not greatly renovated but has lots of character. The bathroom is tired and needs renovation. This hotel is not for everyone but it is reasonably priced and meets our needs. Great staff.

We love our stay in this old world guest house. As we use public transport, it's so close to the Katoomba Rail Station. Perfect. Also close to other wonderful attractions. We were so lucky to snag the unusual Snow Fall..spectacular. The hotel follows Covid-19 safety standards to the letter. We included the full breakfast, we'll worth it. We'll be back for sure.

Old fashioned style hotel with a large communal area with fireplace, and vintage decor. Room was warm, comfy and clean and reception was friendly and helpful. Close proximity to Katoomba RSL for dining, and a chocolate cafe just up the road. Simple contintental breakfast served onsite to get started for the day. No frills but great for a short 1 night stay.

Comfortable and charming hotel in Katoomba. Great location near Echo Point. They kindly accommodated our request for ground floor rooms for my elderly parents and ourselves. Enjoyed the food and service at Lounge restaurant. Usually ample parking available for guests, both at open lots and underground garage (although both were full on Good Friday).

The Carrington is in a perfect position, right in the heart of Katoomba and the Blue Mountains and is easy walking distance of restaurants, bars, shops etc. The hotel is an experience in itself and gives a glimpse into the past that not many would have had exposure too. I could not fault the staff, food or facilities in any way.
