Last time nov 17 for a few days in a hotel.in Copacabana
This time stayed 8 days in the center (Lapa District) more local with lots of bars and restaurants. Underground at walking distance and most easy to travel to different areas of Rio. Otherwise cheap fares with Uber and taxis OK. Always great to be back in RdeJ.

Will DEFINITELY be back to Rio de Janeiro!!
Will DEFINITELY be back to Rio de Janeiro!!
It is a BEAUTIFUL city & so many activities in the area.
Close to many restaurants, live shows, bars, convenience stores.
Pricey to be in this area but worth-it staying within walking distance.
We heard some stories of bag snatching & phone thefts, but we were SAFE walking around. We didn't use our phones out in public, instead we checked our locations & GPS before we left & used nearby stores to pop into on our way to getting to places, so we could SAFELY check our phones (to make sure we were still on track)
Many tour operators in the area if U choose to do tourist attractions.
We done a few on our own, since they were easily accessible by bus / taxi & cost a LOT cheaper.
There are many attractions U can book online to SAVE U money & many we done during the week when it was not congested

Rio is a world-class city in a spectacular location that is worth visiting any time. The beaches are world-famous, but the national parks, especially the botanical garden, as also worth visiting. I have been visiting Rio since the mid-1990's and have never had a negative experience. For details, I can suggest you look at the very many videos and reviews already available on line.

Everyone tell you be careful of pick pocket in Rio.
Everyone tell you be careful of pick pocket in Rio. That is true but also the town near Copacabana is so lively. Bakery like in Europe, hair salon do massage and nail with reasonable price. Street food, street fashion are all affordable. But you have a select a safe hotel.

Nice city.
Nice city. Has some nice location to chill out and take some photos. Nice weather, especially when the sun goes down. A lot of criminality. Everybody can tell you that they have been robbed, and us ourselves we got robbed too
Very nice hotel at an excellent location, very kind and helpful staff, very good breakfast. Small but sufficient and modern swimming pool at the top floor with great view over Copacabana beach. Straight on Copacabana beach and just a small walk from Ipanema beach. One day tourist trip visiting four attractions including Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf mountain can be arranged at the reception. It saves you hours of waiting time in the queues compared to visiting them on your own.
Room was small, but the view was amazing. Beds were very comfortable. Breakfast is one of the best in Rio. They offer a big selection so there is something for everyone. It is big hotel so expect to see it always crowded in the lobby and during breakfast time. For first time visitors to Rio, this would be an excellent choice. The location is not far from some of the best restaurants, Copacabana beach, pharmacy, and 10 minute walk to a mall. Wifi connection is good.
We had a room on the upper floor with a balcony with a perfect view on Copacabana beach. We enjoyed the views and our time in Rio.
Breakfast was very good, with everything we expected. The people at the reception were very helpful. The hotel has a perfect location, with walkable distance to subway ( 5 min.), Copacabana beach right in front of the hotel, 15 min walk to Ipanema beach, couple of restaurants nearby.
Perfect location, beach towels included.
The hotel is clean, newly renovated and in a perfect location. The is close to both Ipanema and Copacabana beaches. The staff are ALL very friendly and attentive. As we are Portuguese challenged (still learning) they took the time to explain menus and recommendations. Breakfast was very good and the roof pool, bar and restaurant was a great way to wind down the day and watch the sunset.
The staff were very helpful and friendly - a special thank you to Elaine for helping us book Churrascaria Palace. The hotel itself is in a great location - handy for Copacabana and Ipanema. The views each morning looking out over the beach were amazing. The breakfast was also very good for a buffet. The upstairs bar also has great views in the evening.
- spotless customer service. I believe it is the best I have ever experienced
- big spacious rooms, closets, bathrooms
- convenient location in the heart of the Copacabana beach
- very delicious breakfast with many options. Staff suggests a lot of new things to try. Very pleasant experience
- 2 Michelin restaurants right on the hotel area
The hotel’s location is terrific! The best highlight, in my opinion. It’s located in front of Copacabana Beach, surrendered by restaurants, markets, pharmacies, and other kind of amenities. Another thing that I would like to raise is the staff’s friendliness. They are very kind and give all their attention to the guests.
Location was perfect for anyone who wants to walk Copacabana and Ipanema beaches. The staff is top grade. They were attentive, kind, and efficient. Rooms were small but cozy. The food was great at the hotel. And the restaurant is just awesome to hang out and rest your feet during. Long day exploring.
Beautiful hotel and facilities. Great location short
Uber ride from copacabana . Nice pool. Lots of seating around pool area. Shower was hot with great pressure. Breakfast was very good lots to choose from. Beach is across the street and not as busy as Copacabana and ipanema.
Location, location, location! Right across Avenida Atlantica from Copacabana Beach, with sweeping views in both directions. The bustling neighborhood of Copacabana is behind the hotel, with shops, restaurants, cafes, etc within easy walking distance, as is Ipanema.
Breakfast was great, better than I expected for a budget hotel. Location was around 7 min walk to Botafogo subway station which was our main mode of transportation during Carnaval. Room was very clean and beds comfortable. The AC was working perfectly.
The location of this lovely hotel was unique. All hotels in Ipanema and Copacabana are on the opposite side of a busy street to the beech. This hotel is directly on the beach. The rooms are beautifully designed and have everything you need.
The breakfast was very good. We were very surprised that the hotel provided us sun beds and umbrella on the Copacabana beach. Special thank to Isaias, the guy who took care of us on the beach. They have a safe zone and there is no risk.
It is a small hotel in the proximity of Ipanema Beaches and also close to Copacabana. The hotel has modern rooms. Breakfast is adequate and staff in the breakfast room very nice. Also receptionists very helpful.
The hotel is a good choice for trip in Rio. The breakfast is excellent. Cleanliness is very good. The hotel is meters from Copacabana beach, Ipanema is also nearby.
Owner is a very nice person, very kind, open and helpful. Hotel is very close to Copacabana and Ipanema beach and very close to the bus and metro station.
