Guilin is a city and all the cruise to Yangshuo starts here. Guilin has lively night shopping area and full of restaurants. It has a lake and it is ok to walk around at night and look at the pagodas. There is a famous cave nearby. The location of the hotel is conveniently close to the Reed Flute Cave, which is a lot more quiet than the city. We rented bikes for a day to get into the city which is less than 20 mins away and safe enough for tourists, especially with the new bike roads around the village.
