You CAN actually find good restaurants here and it’s cheap.
You CAN actually find good restaurants here and it’s cheap. You just have to explore a bit. We were there for a coffee course but otherwise we would not have gone to Cartago for tourism. If you are coming from outside colombia, be advised that even international banks like BBVA and Santander might not let you take out any money in Cartago (Medellin yes, Cartago sometimes). We also experienced that sometimes big bank ATMs www simply out of money. This is terrible because some hotels and restaurants only accept cash.

I was here for a coffee course, which was first class; however Cartago is not somewhere I would visit for fun, sightseeing, etc. For a coffee region, we were surprised at the lack of coffee businesses/coffee shops. There is one nice area that we found, I think it's Avenida 4, that had a few coffee shops and better restaurants.SarahUnited States of America

The worst was the bathroom smell of sewage daily because I had already emptied my luggage I stayed in the room, and my friend told the hotel staff they did nothing, one housekeeper put some disinfectant that had a good smell that lasted 2 hours, even with the bathroom door closed the smell was awful, so I put the AC on 16 to fight with the smell.BeatriceUnited States of America
