A little jewel in Moravia, I strongly recommend staying in Mikulov for at least 1 day. Peaceful, good vibrations.
The location is very nice, the gardens nearby the Castle have been recently renewed, they deserve a walk.

When traveling from Poland to Italy we usually stop over in Mikulov. We like the town very much. It is quiet so we always sleep well. We see how over years more and more buildings are decorated so our evening walks are every year nicer. We also see the number and quality of restaurants are growing. Very nice main square, peaceful streets and great castle! Worth to visit!

Mikulov is quintessentially, European charming, anchored by a castle, surrounded by vineyards. The architecture is enamoring, the castle and castle winery intriguing. My daughter and I went for the Moravian Easter holiday festivities while visiting castles. Wine was a bonus! The nearby Lednice-Valtice complex make Mikulov the perfect base for our Easter adventure.

I love Mikulov, its bars and buffets, together with a nice castle and a bunch of nice places to visit. Hiking around Mikulov is very good too. Wine, wine, wine and lots of good wine. We ate in Drogérka, excellent breakfast. KukBistro was also absolutely fantastic, especially their freshly baked bread. Parking in Mikulov is a disaster. Too expensive and focused on pushing tourists on the outskirts.

A small, cozy, beautiful city located in a hilly area on the Czech-Austrian border. It is a valued center of winemaking. The wineries with excellent Moravian wines are a big attraction.
Wandering around the historic old town gives you a lot of pleasure.
There is a lot of hotels and restaurants. However, I recommend booking in advance hotels in this city, because on the way back I wanted to spend a night (without advance booking) in the hotel where I previously stayed and there were no rooms available (third decade of September !).

Hotel has big parking slots, no problem with kids rushing out of the car. Check-in was quick and communication clear. Hotel has a good location for travellers from Poland, Scandinavia and Baltics heading to Croatia as a stop in the middle. From the rooms in building A is nice view in direction to Mikulov castle.
Lot of small and very nice local businesses in downtown. Try Monner Cafe located just under the castle or go few kilometers to Dolní Dunajovice, visit the vineyard “U Mlýnků” 13:00 - 23:00.
It was great to stay at the Penzion Baltazar. The room was clean, the breakfast was good, and the location was perfect to explore Mikulov, Lednice, and Valtice. All staff were great, I felt welcomed, especially Martin was ready to help elevate your travel. Thank you for your hospitality. I will definitely visit again!
Spacious terrace with wonderful view at Mikulov castle. Comfortable and clean apartment. Quiet neighborhood though very close to the centre. Very nice owners.
