An excellent base for exploring the area. Osmotherley is a pretty bustling village on the Coast to Coast route with pubs, a village shop and tea and coffee shop. Not to mention the annual Osmotherley Summer Games which take place on the first Saturday of July. (Please note the main road through the village may close during the Games) Mount Grace Priory is close by, a perfect place to get away from it all, on the route of The Cleveland Way and close to the end of the Lyke Wake Walk. On the Western edge of The North York Moors National Park you can visit Castle Howard, or catch a steam train from Pickering to Whitby on the The North Yorkshire Moors Railway, for spectacular panoramic views of the Vale of York. Take a walk along the top of Sutton Bank and visit the famous White Horse painted on the hillside. Kilburn is also home to the Mouseman Visitor Centre which will take you on an amazing journey through the life and times of the Mouseman from humble beginnings to furniture making legend.
