The host met us upon arrival and took us to our room, gave us a tour and showed us through a booklet they had compiled themselves of local sites worth seeing, restaurants worth eating at and other must see things. The apartment was bigger than we expected and was very welcoming. It felt natural to be there from the moment we walked in. The views from the kitchen and bedroom windows were incredible and one night we were treated to some hot air balloons in the distance which added to the view. The location of the property is very good as it's not too far from any of the big tourist attractions around the area and it's in a very quiet area overall. We will definitely be staying again!

The Mount Somerton Apartments are part of a former manor house built in the early 1800's. Set in the picturesque village of Somerton and nestled in a large secluded garden, the apartments offer a relaxing private getaway and a wonderful base from which to explore Somerset and all it's intriguing history, natural beauty and National Trust properties. The Mount comprises of two newly renovated, spacious, sunny apartments, each on their own level, in an individual wing of this Georgian/Victorian Manor house. You will be welcomed on arrival by your hosts,Trish and Henry and then have access to your apartment through your own private entry. Offering 2 individual, fully self-contained apartments, The Mount Apartments provides the perfect home away from home. Hazelwood Apartment (Delux) on the first floor, has a spacious dining room / kitchenette featuring a Russell Hobbs fridge / freezer, an induction hob and a Panasonic Combi Oven, a breakfast bar and a table and chairs, an open plan lounge with a couch and a large armchair all with spectacular views over the garden, a separate bedroom with a King Sized bed and a large designer ensuite. Beechwood Apartment (Superior) on the top floor is slightly larger than Hazelwood and has a separate snug/tv room, a spacious full kitchen / dining room, Nespresso Coffee machine, induction hob, Russell Hobbs fridge / freezer, full oven and dining room table and chairs, all with gorgeous views over the countryside. It has a large bedroom with a very comfortable king sized bed and also a full sized single bed. The bathroom has a marble floor, underfloor heating, a heated towel rail and a bath and a shower. There is a cosy snug /TV room with two armchairs .
Your hosts Trish and Henry have made The Mount their home for the past 12 years having moved to the UK from New Zealand. For 8 years they ran the property as a highly popular B&B but during the pandemic they decided to change direction and spent a year renovating the accommodation wing resulting in the 2 fabulous apartments Beechwood (Superior)and Hazelwood (Deluxe)They are excited for you to enjoy your own private apartment and gardens at The Mount. One of the charms of Beechwood and Hazelwood is that you are enjoying a totally tranquil setting with panoramic rural views, yet you are only a couple of minutes' flat stroll in to Somerton’s picturesque market square. This is a thriving village, with its 17th century Buttercross, a church with origins dating back 800 years, and many independent shops. We have a range of places to eat, The White Hart, the Globe and the Unicorn, two cafes, and an Indian restaurant. Somerton also has an antique shop, two bakeries, a butcher, health food shop, stationer, wine shop, shoe shop, fruiterer, post office, library, pharmacy, and a Co-op supermarket. Trish and Henry look forward to welcoming you.
The Mount Somerton Apartments are the perfect base for sightseeing Somerset: Glastonbury Tor, the spectacular Wells Cathedral, the Bishops Palace and moat, the Ham Wall RSPB nature reserve, and many National Trust properties are all within easy reach. So too is the popular Clarks Village Outlet Shopping in Street. Your self contained apartment is a level stroll of about 400 metres to the centre of the charming small town of Somerton, with its 17th century Buttercross market square and several excellent pubs for food.
