Lovely little mid terrace house with good state of decoration.
Had a bath and a shower, plenty of hot water from the combi boiler and nice fluffy towels.
It was a very close to Asda and Morrisons and the Train Station.
It was only a bus ride away from Durham, with plenty of busses during the day.
Plenty of take-aways in the town and a Wetherspoons at the other end ( bit of a walk but not too far )

Excellent accommodation - clean and spacious. Within easy walking distance of the town centre, deer park and castle. Directly opposite the venue where we were attending a family party. Lots to explore locally by car also.
Hassle free booking and stay, plus speedy response to messages.o

The view was amazing, was lovely being outside on the patio watching the sun go down and all you can hear are the birds and horses.
The place itself has all you could need and was kept to a high standard.
It was also lovely having the keys right there at the location. It meant being able to get in as soon as I arrived.

The Auckland project venues ( Auckland castle and walled garden, deer park, Mining museum, Faith museum, Spanish gallery all worth visiting. Conveniently near each other. Walking distance. Plenty car parking. Poor shopping outlets. Limited choice of restaurants, not always open. Several takeaways. Wetherspoins very popular.

Parts of Bishop Auckland are a little 'scruffy', quite a few empty shops in the town, although there are the usual supermarkets etc in the out-of-town shopping centres.
Auckland Castle and museums were very interesting. The guides in Auckland Castle were knowledgeable and very happy to show off everything there. The gardens will be stunning once they mature a little.

Bishop Auckland is undergoing great renovations.
Bishop Auckland is undergoing great renovations. Though the main street has some way to go, the Market Square and Bishops Palace area is really attractive. The Castle (Bishop's Palace), Mining Art Gallery and Spanish Gallery are full of interest, well worth the entry fee (book annual pass online for best value). The best thing was the friendliness of the people we met, both as knowledgeable guides in the attractions and welcoming locals in the pubs and restaurants.

Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts who were very welcoming and friendly. The hotel, our room and the ensuite bathroom were very clean and comfortable and the food in the hotel restaurant was excellent. The hotel has recently been improved and the accommodation is a very high standard and excellent value for money. We are vegetarians and had delicious meals on both nights of our two day stay. An excellent base for walking in this lovely area, a great place to stay. A hidden gem!
The area is so interesting. There are traces of its industrial past all around and it is a short drive to the Killhope lead mine or to Allenheads with its cafe, museums etc. Beckelshele is off the A689, at Lanehead, surrounded by open country with curlew, snipe etc. The owners live next door and couldn't be more helpful and friendly. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we have booked again in June - for a fortnight this time.
The owner was welcoming from the start, nothing was too much trouble. Street parking right in front of the property was a godsend as most big hotels charge you for parking as well. We couldn’t fault it at all. Was excellent for what we needed. Returning customers, booked 3 more times since the first visit.
Excellent value for money.
Locarion was very central. Bedrooms were cosy as described but there was plenty of room. Large lounge and bathroom and the kitchen was more than adequate for our needs. Was impressed by the cleanliness. The hosts provided accurate and useful information. Would definately go back if we are in the area again.
Beautifully decorated and really comfortable setting. The staff were delightful and very helpful. Check in and out was very simple and I was made to feel welcome instantly and for my entire stay. This trip was solo for business. I will be returning with my partner in the near future.
A wonderful hotel that is really haunted.
Absolutely great staff, particularly the receptionist and also manager was really friendly. He has only been there y weeks.
A lovely room and a tasty breakfast.
A fantastic hotel, well worth a visit. It is so so old, with so much history.
The owner Sean was welcoming from the start
Nothing was too much trouble
I had the double room with en suite
Parking permit was a godsend as most big hotels charge you for parking as well !!
Will be returning next year
Excellent value for money
We found the hotl excellent with such friendly and helpful staff. It is set in an attractive setting. Our room was most comfortable. the food was excellent and very fairly priced. Would th oroughly recommend a stay at the Manor Hotel
Staff were very pleasant and extremely helpful. The hotel is in a beautiful location and great for a peaceful stay. Breakfast was good - menu had a good selection, we wanted a more simple choice and they were happy to accomodate us.
The apartment had everything we required for an overnight.
Appreciated the extras, milk, bread, toiletries.
