Pretty much everything. It was so obvious that Gill does this as a labour of love. One of the best holiday stays I have ever had. Cannot be faulted. We were looking for a place in Inverness and only stayed in Dingwall because Inverness was booked...

Carnaby Lodge is a town house in the county town of Dingwall full of character with unique oak panelling in the hallway and many rooms of the house the antique furnishing and beautiful pictures all make Carnaby Lodge a very special place to stay in a peaceful relaxed atmosphere. In the sitting room there are many books to browse and enjoy, the bedrooms and en suite bathrooms are luxurious having just been newly designed since we came to live here just over two years ago, we welcomed guests here for the first time at the beginning of September 2021, for us we felt the safest time to begin our new venture in this lovely house due to the pandemic. The dining room with oak panelled walls and antique furnishings is where breakfast can be enjoyed by our guests. We offer a wide variety of options for our guests to enjoy, locally sourced and freshly cooked dishes are served each morning.
We just love welcoming guests to share our home and have spent many happy years offering Bed breakfast to people from all over the world moving here from Waters Edge in Fortrose. We truly enjoy what we do and put our heart and soul into giving our guests generous hospitality and the warmest of welcomes, offering a welcome drink and Scottish shortbread on their arrival. Attention to detail is very important to us , we always offer our guests the very best we can to make their stay with us memorable and special.
The county town of Dingwall has a great history, it is very close to the sea, the Cromarty Firth is just one minute by car from Carnaby Lodge. Lovely walks can be enjoyed along the shore and the canal that runs into the sea from the town, the relaxing, easy walk is beautiful with many birds to see along the way. The museum is of great interest very well done with interesting exhibits. On the high street there are many shops restaurants and coffee shops one of the best shops is a quality antique shop well worth a browse. Dingwall is an excellent base for touring the Scottish highlands, the train station is a short walk from the house and places like Isle of Skye the famous line that take you through beautiful outstanding scenery can be enjoyed for the day from Dingwall station. Thurso to the north, Inverness and Aviemore. There is also a very good bus service if guests just want to give the car a rest for the day. Guests can visit Cromarty where dolphin sight seeking tours can be booked, many golf courses, castle in the area, Chanonry point, home to the famous Moray Firth dolphins watch out for them from the shore, as they leap out of the waves to catch the Scottish wild salmon
