There is residential parking nearby; all day parking close by; local bus services and a train service that gives stunning views of St Ives Bay. Please note that our pricing takes into account our lack of allocated parking, but does not detract from the quality of cleanliness and cosiness of our home. At the back of Stennack Gardens is Trelawney Road. This is the quickest route to my favourite beach. Turn right at the back garden gate; at the end of Trelawney Road turn left up Bullans Hill to the end; right at Alexander Road; down to the mini roundabout; turn left down Porthmeor Hill. You will arrive on my favourite childhood beach – Porthmeor. It’s a 9 minute walk according to Google Maps. On that end of the beach you have a small waterfall. I used to spend hours there building dams with my brother and sister and our friends (even in the winter!). Kiddies will love this. The other end of the beach is, what the locals call, ’The Island’. The views to the left when facing the sea are of Clodgey and Man’s Head (see if you can figure it out ). You can take a lovely cliff walk along there. There is a lovely café half way along Porthmeor just below the Tate Gallery. 5 Stennack Gardens has been in my family since 1950. It belonged to my grandparents; then to my father and has recently passed on to me. It is an ex-local authority property that has been lovingly updated, though still retains some original features. I grew up in St Ives just up the road from Stennack Gardens, above Porthmeor Beach. What an amazing, free childhood! What a playground for me, my brother and sister and our family and friends! I still appreciate the beautiful scenery and character that the town and area have to offer. I love the idea of guests coming to St Ives and experiencing this too. When I got to secondary school age, I had to travel to Penzance daily. This meant getting the train from St Ives to St Erth, then a connection from St Erth to Penzance and back. The journey from St Ives to St Erth and back is truly stunning. I still do this journey on occasions. Sometimes parking at St Erth park and ride. I recommend you take this journey to get a panoramic view of St Ives Bay. I live a little further up the north coast nowadays in Portreath, so still by the sea. Guests will be able to contact us by messaging through the site if anything needs attending too. As already mentioned, there is no allocated parking for 5 Stennack Gardens. The Stennack is a main road leading down to St Ives town centre and leading up to the back roads leading out of St Ives. It is a 10 minute walk down into the town and around ‘downalong’, which gives you access to shops; the harbour and beaches.
