The location was great. We had a young man help us when we got there. I think he said he was the chef there - he was so helpful and kind

It was in a great location in Penzance with a sea view. A large bedroom that was cleaned daily on request. Very comfortable stay. We didn't try the hotel restaurant as we ate out at local places.

Artist Residence Cornwall, hotel in Penzance

The unique and original rooms at the 17th-century Artist Residence are each uniquely designed in an eclectic, rustic style, with a curated collection of limited edition artworks throughout.

We have wanted to stay here for a while. Really lovely room with nice attention to detail. Radio on when you come in the room and smelt divine. Great tea and coffee (and lots of it!). Lovely shower and beautiful toiletries. Bed super comfortable and the room had the added benefit of air con so we were the perfect temperature! Also loved the personalized bags for the hair dryer, spare adapters and slippers. Lovely breakfast! The tea provided in the room was nicer that the one used for breakfast. Staff excellent and very welcoming.

Penzance is quaint, people are friendly, helpful & want to share their town with you. Suggest prior booking for the Lido, regardless of the time of year to avoid disappointment. Take a bus or taxi to St Michael's Mount and consider walking back to Penzance along the beach & path. Visit Morab Gardens, a real treat. A visit to Lands End & meal at the Hotel there to watch the sun go down and also the Minack Theatre, a must. There are lovely little cafes, with homemade treats to try. Allow sufficient time for visiting places of interest, there are so many.

The only drawback to Penzance is the long journey to get there from most of the UK. However there are great rail links, including direct trains to and from Cardiff and London Paddington, also of course Bristol and other major cities. Other than that, it has everything you could wish for, although to be fair there's not much beach, and none at all when the tide is in. A ferry trip to St Mary's Isles of Scilly is a must, there's a daily service that gives you about four hours on the island, which is well worth doing. Penzance has an abundance of shops, many of them "quirky", but also everything you could need. Great place for food and drink options. I have no hesitation in recommending Penzance for a relaxing break.

Penzance itself is pretty but small.

Penzance itself is pretty but small. But within a walk or a bus ride (or mix of both) you have St Michael's Mount, Newlyn and Mousehole, and a whole lot of beaches and views. We were carless - with a car, the whole tip of Cornwall is there for you. And if you are there on a Friday, the Italian buffet at the Lugger Inn is excellent!

It's a cute town with lots of quaint shops but a bit "touristy", we enjoyed going to Lizard Point and Lands End. There are many little cafes and restaurants with a lot of variety in the types of food so you can probably find something you like.

West Cornwall is a great place for birdwatching and Penzance...

West Cornwall is a great place for birdwatching and Penzance makes a great base from which to go out each day. It has lots of good restaurants and pubs/bars for those wanting them but also the usual stores for provisions if self-catering. There are boat trips from the harbour, a few galleries, cinema and beaches both at Penzance and in other places nearby.

Its a great base for a trip in this area.

Its a great base for a trip in this area. We loved walking along the coast, parking was easy. We visited the Lido for a morning bathe in the sunshine (you need to book this). We walked to Newlyn and drank lovely coffee at Lovells, we ate some beautiful breakfasts - particularly Artists Residence, Lovells and The Honey Pot. We ate tasty food at the Mackerel Sky Bar and Tolcarne Inn in Newlyn, You can easily walk to Mousehole for a delicious cream tea at Four Teas Cafe. We had a drink in The Admiral Benbow and drove around the coast visiting St Ives, Lands End and The Lizard (stopping off at Ellies Soul Kitchen). We visited old tin mines and The Minark Theatre for an evening show. All in all, a great stay and I want to come back and go to the Isles of Scilly next time.

My partner and I chose Pyggwyn for our weekend break after unexpectedly coming across it here on Booking.com and we are so glad we did! We could have not asked for a more perfect location just a 10 minute drive from Penzance, the most perfect base to go and visit the incredible sites Cornwall has to offer. Pyggwyn brings such a cosy and homely vibe and the bed was extremely comfortable. The cabin was spotless and the complimentary milk, orange juice and cereal was a lovely added extra. We could not have asked for a better stay. Thanks again!

The location is good for exploring Cornwall. The property is very clean with well equipment kitchen and a dining table ; great for convenience and budget not to have to pay to eat out all the time; and there is Lidl round the corner. It is possible to walk to the property from town . Penzance has a train station- easy day trip to St Ives. There is the coastal explorer bus which enables a car free day to many places, and to combine south west coast path walk with a bus back to the house.

The location of the hotel was good for exploring Penzance on foot. Parking is limited but we were able to park four motorcyles outside the hotel. Both rooms were quiet and the breakfast was good.

It has parking included on the grounds of the hotel, which was handy. The location is correct, in between Penzance and Marazion. Not much to add, sorry.
