Hi I’m Mark. After travelling the world, I decided to settle down in Suffolk twenty years ago and started my own little business with a beautiful old derelict farm complex, which I converted into six lovely little cottages for people to escape from city life and enjoy the wonderfully rural experience that this area amazingly has, despite it’s close proximity to London. I love what I do and am ‘Hands On’ with welcoming guests to my own six cottages, as well as looking after my Cottage Agency 'The Grove Cottages' that soon developed as other owners came asking me to take on their cottages and give them the same level of personal customer care, attention, and promotion that we are known and appreciated for. I don’t want to be a huge company, I’m very happy to have a small agency where personal involvement is always the priority and where I can pick only places which I love and know inside out to join us. A characterful cottage in a Nature Reserve, on the wonderful unspoilt Suffolk coast. Cissy’s Cottage is a step back in time, full of antique furnishings and quirky features. It has a working 1800’s kitchen range (for fun and chestnuts only) in the wood panelled sitting room, and a cosy dining room overlooked by an ancient grandfather clock. Upstairs is a twin bedroom leading into a master bedroom, downstairs there is a well-equipped galley kitchen and a bathroom with a Victorian bath. Being on the main access road to Aldeburgh it is just a 7-minute drive to the sea. A very special feature of this lovely historical cottage is that it is next to its own private Nature Reserve which you are invited to enjoy. The owners have laid out pathways to take in the escarpment, the mature Cedars of Lebanon and discover the blankets of daffodils, primroses or bluebells that carpet the ground in an amazing succession every Spring. If you would like to bring a dog up to 2 well behaved pets are welcome. Banned Dogs: Please also note that if you are considering bringing a banned dog breed speak to us first before booking. There is a 20 Pound charge per pet for up to 7 nights. Please note that cottage owners cannot accept pets that have not been paid for, so please make sure that you have paid for your pet before arrival. This is a special place to stay in and experience. The owners welcome their guests with a lovely Breakfast Hamper for a full English Breakfast. This is a special place to experience. There is a Special Reduced rate for 2 guests using just one bedroom outside High Season. Please note that if you put in the number of guests as 2 then it is assumed you will only require one bedroom. If you want to use 2 bedrooms then you should put in the number of guests as 3, because outside High Season the larger cottages will have a reduced rate for 2 guests using only one bedroom reflecting the saving made on laundry and cleaning.

There are footpaths from the owners Private Nature Reserve going to Snape Maltings, the forests and thelakes, which lead to the sea at Aldeburgh. Aldeburgh has some famous restaurants like The Lighthouse and The Wentworth Hotel, as well as a host of others – a real foodie’s delight. You are just 2 1/2 miles from the famous Snape Malting’s Arts, Crafts and Music Centre, containing many interesting shops and excellent restaurants. The Tunstall Forest of UFO fame is close by. The seaside at Aldeburgh is where you can buy fish and crabs straight from the fishermen’s huts on the beach, there are unique walks from there along the famous Orford Ness Nature Reserve or beside the salt lakes to Thorpeness. Laundry Cottage is perfectly situated to explore the famous local forests, and the pretty little Seaside towns in this area.
