With historical features dating back to 1455, Sutherland House is believed to be one of the oldest buildings in Southwold. The room was small, but that was described well on the website. The website also said there was a private bathroom, which we assumed would be across the corridor, but it was a very nice bathroom en-suit. Food was good and because we had read the advice on the website and emails the visit was very smooth and enjoyable.

Southwold is like a seaside resort i remember as a child. Pier has so much fun things to see and do on it, that dont involve loads of money for slot machines, Town is small but holds so much. Everyone is friendly , its a wonderful place to visit
It's a beautiful little village with a nice Pier that has a nice restaurant on it it and a very small but quirky amusement arcade the beaches are very Sandy and there are a few cats and tea rooms along the promenade there are some nice pubs in the area that serve food it's nice and quiet there are no nightclubs and along the beach promenade there are are very nice beach huts
Bit more upmarket than some seaside towns. Lovely shops, plenty of places to eat, always clean, lovely beach and wonderful pier with interesting gift shops and quality cafes. Recommend Sutherland House for a meal - absolutely wonderful.
I liked the easy going atmosphere and friendliness of people. I love being by the sea. It's easy to see why it is so popular. Even though there were lots of dogs, I didn't spot any dog mess anywhere so it's clear that people care about the place.
Southwold is a lovely town and seaside resort with many attractions like the inland lighthouse, Adnams brewery, the historic sailors reading room, it’s easy to walk around southwold. The downside is very few places to have a meal .
In our three days stay we enjoyed having a snack on the pier and visiting the local market. We also enjoyed seeing the big name shops in the High Street. It does take a little while to navigate the streets around our hotel
Southwold
Quiet, peaceful location in lovely surroundings. Hosts were great and provided lots of local knowledge and tips. Their two dogs were very friendly and enjoyed lots of fuss. Ideal for Southwold, Aldeburgh and surrounding places. Both Owl's Roost and Squirrel provide home comforts, great for hanging out with friends.
Lovely cottage that was fresh and modern while still being homely. Really well kitted out with everything we needed. Great outside space to enjoy the sunshine with plenty of seating. The location was great too, only a 15 min walk into the centre of Southwold.
Very friendly staff. Rooms were very clean with great facilities. The breakfast was amazing and such a great selection. We had an evening meal which was one of the best we've had. Walking distance to Southwold. We would definitely stay again.
The room was bright, airy, very clean and beautifully presented. Very helpful staff at reception. The public rooms downstairs were also of a high standard including a small bar with cask Adnams beers. The breakfast yogurts were really good!
