Hotel in Lowestoft
On top of Kirkley Cliff, overlooking Lowestoft’s award-winning Blue Flag beach, Hotel Victoria is less than a mile south of the center of town. Considering the implications of taking a short break so soon after the hotel was allowed to open...everything was according to regulations and everything felt just fine. I look forward to returning once normality returns..

The beach was lovely even in October we went for long walks up to Pakefeild villiage there is a beautiful church to look at and some lovely cottages the views are beautiful they have Lowerstoft oldest pub called The Trowel and Hammer a lovely beamed pub and freshly cooked food. It was a shame that because if covid the piers was closed and not all the cafes on the promenade was open we did go to one that was near some beach huts where you can take dogs but I must say the coffee was bit great but the cake lovely some of the pubs Harbour inn and Hatfield hotel which had it's own restaurants for residents and non closed at 9pm the Hatfield asked us if we wanted our bill at 8.45 i did no at that time but we was given it at 9, which means we are closing there was 3 couples in the bar but the problem is if you are staying there then you can stay in the bar till 10 ti finish your drinks, when we left not our choice the staff went home !! At least the harbour inn apologised to us and gave us a warning that they will be closing at 9, which is a shame as we was on holiday.the Harbour inn is a nice pub with lovely food the Sunday dinner just under £9 was delicious we had pork. The Iconic grill bar was very good, staff was lovely the lights inside very trendy for all ages the price of food and drink was not much more than Wetherspoons prices we didn't spend more than £35 that was two meals with drinks too. The high street was no more than what you expect, but a lovely little street with lots if charity shops and boutique shops, all on all a wonderful stay
The seaside town of Lowestoft is very rundown, but if you go a little further out, to the Broads and local villages, the area is fascinating and delightful. Our favourite places were Beccles, Bungay, Halesworth, and Wibberswick. The best meals were at the Third Crossing, The Village Maid, The Swan at Barnby.
The area near South Beach and Claremont pier is nice - lovely beach, which was a surprise, and the usual seaside facilities and attractions. Lowestoft town centre was a bit sad. Like a lot of town centres, there were many empty shops and it looked as though it had seen better days. We found some great places to eat, some within 5 minutes walk of our B&B. The Iconic restaurant near South Pier offered excellent food at fantastic value. Our one regret is that we discovered it too late in our stay!!
I want too know why we where charged 220 for the nights when people on a three night break where charged 59.99 thats 119.98 for 2 So thats 100.02 for both of us for one night. Please explain why we have been charged so much for one night Please respond as we were not informed about the 3 night offer I have sent an email some time ago asking for information and l have not received anything. Regards Steve marzec
Parts of Lowestoft town are very run down due to the closing of industry. However, South Beach more than makes up for this. I stayed in Lowestoft as a base to travel up and down the coast and got really good value for money!
Town centre is a little run down, still worth a wander around. Promenade was great to walk along, the best and cheapest ice cream in lowestoft is served on the front near the car park, owners really friendly too.
