It is in an amazing location, has easy access to the local park, and is not far from the town center. The food at the restaurant was delicious, and the staff was very friendly. Plenty of space for free parking.

Whenever I am in Oulton Broad/Lowestoft I stay at the Ivy, and have done so for a number of years. The location next to the Broads is restful, the rooms are excellent. and the staff are super friendly. Generally, I don't eat in Hotel restaurants, but I make an exception at the Ivy. Having the same menu in either a formal dining, or a relaxed dining area is awesome. The food has always been good, I've met the chef (Owner) and he produces good food every time.

We went to South Beach and was very impressed, we were expecting run down but all the big houses were well maintained, a massive promenade where you have to keep dogs on leads. The beach was wide and expansive. Walked to the shops over the bridge where there was a M&S.

Lowestoft used to be an important fishing port, and some remnents of this industry remain. However the port is now occupied in servicing the huge wind farm out at sea and a lot of specialist vessels can be seen leaving and entering the harbour. The new Gull Wing Bridge is a most unusual and well worth a glance as you cross. The town has a lot of old harbour infrastructure which is wasting away, but this is actually really photogenic. Also very photo worthy is the large expanse of water known as Oulton Broad. And of course the rest of the Norfolk Broads. The light house is worth a visit up on the northern cliff, as is the small maritime museum in an old fisherman's cottage. For me, the most interesting location in Lowestoft, is the East Anglia Transport Museum. This is right next to the Suffolk Coach House Hotel. Open regularly between Easter and Christmas, you can travel on a vintage tram or two, trolleybuses, motorbuses taxis and there is a narrow gauge railway and a vast array of other exhibits

Visited Great Yarmouth Greyhounds, a great afternoon out food was fabulous and went to the Pantomime in the Gorleston Pavilion Theatre. Jack and the Beanstalk was very enjoyable and a reasonable price would highly recommend doing both if you stay in December.

My family used to holiday in Lowestoft either in the summer or at Whitsun every year from 1965-1970. As a youngster there was always so much to do & see there. I've been back several times since then & a lot of the attractions have disappeared. However the town revived several happy memories

Lowestoft is home to the East Anglia Transport Museum. One of the Countries premier transport museums. The promenade is a great place to go for a daily run. There are quite a few good restaurants in the town. A good place to be based if one is touring the southern Norfolk Broads.

Lowestof is a nice place to visit, and even in August it was not very busy at all. The beaches there are really good for families and children as the sand is very clean. Not too sure about swimming in the North Sea, but some brave souls did !. Good selection of places to eat, and a great surprise was finding a Wimpy - Best burgers ever ;-)

The self catering facilities was excellent. A variety of breakfast options of cereals, breads, yogurts, juices... and even Marmite! Kitchen was very well equipped and clean. I think we were the only people staying but I can imagine it could get quite busy in peak times. Great location to explore the area of Lowestoft/Beccles areas. The guide in the room was particularly thoughtful to include local things to do and places to eat/drink. Both the room and bathroom itself was spacious and clean with great amenities.

The hotel’s location is perfect - in a quiet area of town overlooking the beach and sea. My parents are in their later years so the option to take a lift up to their room is perfect. We also like the association with the Royal British Legion and the charity.

Huge sea facing room. Lovely breakfast, friendly helpful staff. It's an old hotel of faded glory, although the common areas were modernised. The breakfast restaurant was lovely. Starched tablecloths etc. Plenty of parking on site. Sm
