With views of the village green from the front facing windows and within a short stroll of the local pub, attractive Coombe Cottage is ideally located in the centre of the pretty village of Sydling St Nicholas.

Sydling St. Nicholas is a stunningly picturesque and historic village, winding along the little Sydling Water with tiny connecting bridges to the ancient thatched cottages which line the banks. During the summer, the walls are covered with roses and clematis, and birdsong drifts from the gardens. A few minutes walk away is the well regarded Greyhound Inn, with its fresh food, good wine and real ales. The village enjoys many stunning walks with a network of well serviced footpaths and bridleways. A short drive over the hill is the pretty village of Cerne Abbas, home to the famous Cerne Giant, a 180 ft high ancient chalk figure carved into the steep hillside. There are several pubs and a tea shop, and the ancient Cerne Abbey ruins. A short drive away you will discover the historic county town of Dorchester with its Roman heritage and home to the world-famous author Thomas Hardy. The Dorset Museum is well worth a visit, alongside a selection of shops, cafes and many restaurants.
