It was perfect in every way. We wanted a remote, pretty and simple off grid place for a little break and that’s exactly what we got. The hut was absolutely perfect with all of our needs catered for. It was clean, cosy and very welcoming and it had everything we needed for our stay. The stove, the bed, the kitchenware - it had it all. Everything you need was thoughtfully there too from a torch to the gorgeous little candles. Literally all you needed to take was your food, drink and bed linen to make your stay perfect. The location was perfect too. It was quiet and peaceful as well as beautiful and relaxing. The surrounding trees and wildlife were amazing and the night sky was unreal. I’ve never seen such beautiful stars. The facilities (the shower and toilet), were great too, clean and straightforward. I couldn’t recommend this place enough. We will definitely be back.

This cozy shepherd's hut sleeps 2 in a double bed. Duvet and pillows are provided but bring your own bed linen and towels. These can be provided at an extra cost of GBP25. You will have your own composting toilet, and there is a shared outside but enclosed warm gas shower. House Rules: - Check-in time is 4 pm, and check-out is at 11 am. - Smoking is not allowed in the hut. - There are on-site parking facilities available at the property. - Well-behaved pets are allowed at the property. - Please take your rubbish away with you. We do not have a refuse collection on site.

Enjoy the ultimate glamping experience in our Shepherds Hut near St Johns Town of Dalry, Castle Douglas. The huts are off-grid, which means there is no electricity or mains water, but water is supplied. In times of drought or freezing weather, the shower may not be available. Situated in a field surrounded by woodland and wild rivers, you will find everything you need for a perfect stay. The hut has a double bed, woodburning stove, single-ring gas camp stove, crockery, cutlery, pans, and an outside campfire.
