Welcome to Gareloch Cottage, a relaxing holiday home in West Scotland! Conveniently situated to visit Loch Lomond and explore the West Highlands. This charming detached cottage is nestled on a picturesque peninsula surrounded by open sea lochs and the Arrochar mountains. It's the perfect blend of a semi-rural retreat and convenient amenities, with good local cafes, pubs, and direct access to beach walks just a stone's throw away. With stunning views of the Gare Loch, our elevated terrace is the perfect spot to relax and unwind. Guests have full use of the house, the enclosed back garden, and the terrace during their stay. There's one parking space on our driveway, and you can also park for free across from the house in the layby. Inside, the cottage has a cozy 'home from home' vibe and is stylishly and comfortably furnished. It can accommodate up to three guests and is suitable for children aged 7+years. You'll love the open plan living and dining area, which is perfect for relaxing and dining. The adjoining Snug offers additional wardrobe space. There's a downstairs bathroom with a bath shower and overhead Rainforest shower head. The galley kitchen is very well equipped for a self catering stay. The back porch leads directly out to the enclosed garden with an area set up with a picnic bench, perfect for enjoying an al fresco meal or a drink in good weather. Upstairs, there are two cozy bedrooms. The double room with a double bed has direct terrace access where you can watch the stunning scenery. The single room overlooks the peaceful back garden. Both bedrooms have blackout blinds, ensuring a good night's sleep. We want you to have the best possible stay, so please let us know if you have any special requirements. Finally, please note that we don't have an EV charger at home, but can provide info before you embark on your journey.

The cottage is convenient for many local amenities, day trips and exploring further afield FOOD STORE: A local Co-Op, open 7 days a week, less than 10 minutes from the house. LOCAL TRANSPORT CONNECTIONS: Bus routes: direct from the house to Helensburgh Train station: at Helensburgh with direct journeys to Glasgow and Edinburgh Glasgow Airport: approx 40 mins drive NEARBY CONNECTING VILLAGES: Cove, Garelochead, Rosneath, Kilcreggan - local cafes, restaurants, food stores DAY TRIP IDEAS: TARBET & ARROCHAR: Situated in the Lomond and Trossachs National Park. Nearby Arrochar is overlooked by the “Arrochar Alps” and marks the gateway to the Argyll Forest Park. DRYMEN: A picturesque village in the direction of Stirling with cafes and pubs. It's on the hills at the western end of the Campsie Fells. Gateway to East Loch Lomond and links Balmaha, Rowardennen and Ben Lomond. BALMAHA: Further along from Drymen (so you can visit both in one day). Easy to park and with a good local cafe and restaurant, it's a great base for climbing Conic Hill and exploring the island of Inchcailloch. LOCH LOMOND AND THE TROSSACHS NATIONAL PARK: You can spend days exploring here! There's something for everyone including local ferry rides, outdoor pursuits and the pretty village of Luss. Take picnics in good weather and don't miss the idyllic Loch Lomond shores. BALLOCH CASTLE AND COUNTRY PARK: On the southern tip of Loch Lomond is this 200 acre park which includes nature trails and walled gardens. STIRLING: Within an hours drive of our cottage, where you can visit the impressive medieval castle and walk through the cobbled streets into the bustling town centre. GLASGOW: Take the tour bus round the city! ROAD TRIPS: If you are planning to stay a while, Argyll and the Isles is a glorious coastal region of sea lochs, islands, forests to explore. Don't forget Oban (with it's world class whisky dispensary).
