Host Info

Hamilton Lodge sleeps 12 to 15 guests, not counting babies, and has 3 reception rooms, a very large kitchen dining area, two independent bathroom and one ensuite - all with underfloor heating, plus one downstairs WC. There is an enclosed walled garden with patio, garden furniture and a BBQ. Hamilton Lodge is ultimately suitable for families, but not for parties. Built in 1875, Hamilton Lodge is a Victorian house featuring its own elegant turret. Each room has been designed to have a different theme from a classic antique feel to modern contemporary. Original features have been maintained, including the lead glass in the entrance hall serving a colour scheme for the interior design. Breathtakingly high ceilings with chandeliers crown the reception rooms. The large sitting room is spacious allow all guests to come together for movie nights, whilst the quite, elegant library allows a choice from a variety of Dutch and English books. The large open plan kitchen. The living space at the back of the house is ideal for socialising, cooking, and dining. Side sea views from some of the bedrooms. Flea free dogs (no cats) are welcome for free.
Hamilton Lodge is located in the quiet and friendly seaside town of Westgate-on-Sea, which is a short coastal walk from the buzzing town of Margate. Two wide, sandy beaches are only a 5 minute walk from the house (the sea is just a few yards away). The beaches are dog friendly and even allow dogs on the beaches before 10am and after 6pm between May and September. Walk for 5 minutes in the opposite direction and you are greeted by small independent local shops, a supermarket, restaurants, bars and cafés. This included an amazing old-fashioned independent cinema that shows the latest movie releases at a bargain ticket price. Only a 30-45 minute drive from Dover or a 1 hour and 15 minutes from South East London (Greenwich/Lewisham).
