As we were staying to attend a wedding at Clearwell castle, we didn’t get to use the facilities of the hotel this time but were impressed with what we saw. The room was fine , plenty of comfy bedding towels etc and nice bathroom

We stayed twice on our way to and from visiting family in N Wales. The rooms each time were tastefully decorated with comfortable beds and well-appointed en-suite with shower.
The service was extremely friendly and helpful (carrying luggage to our room). Food in the restaurant was good and my husband liked the beer!
As we had a disabled parking badge we were able to park right outside, which was a bonus.

So pleased to stay with other guests at the same wedding and being accommodated as a group. Well organised and helpful staff. Thanks for providing the evening buffet and breakfast - proved really popular.
Overall the rooms are bright and generous. Even family rooms made available for those with children.

Delightful hotel, wish we could have stopped longer.
Delightful hotel, wish we could have stopped longer. Little touches like blankets for sitting outside, umbrellas for walking back to the rooms, board games to play were very thoughtful. Lots to see around the area. We couldn’t eat in the hotel as it was fully booked but ate at the pub next door which was very good.

Some attractions such as Puzzle Wood and Clearwell Caves are within easy walking distance but when you get near them they are all on a main road without a footpath. We walked to Puzzle Wood with four children and decided not to go in by the main entrance as it involved a stretch of busy road. This was not appreciated by staff, so recommendation is to drive everywhere!

Very small, idyllic English countryside town.
Very small, idyllic English countryside town. Close to lots of hiking trails in the Forest of Dean.
Visited both Raglan Castle and Goodrich Castle for a little history, the grounds and sites were attractive.
Walks are around the area are great but give the Forest of Dean Sculpture trail a miss, as the sculptures are run down and underwhelming.
Puzzlewood very close to Clearwell, and a great day out for kids and kids at heart, to get lost in the Forest of Dean, and meet some farm animals.
Eat at the Butchers Arm, for friendly staff and great food. With only a few options to eat in Clearwell itself, we did go into Monmouth for more food options which are only a 15min drive.
Absolutely charming hotel. Rooms are a great standard with a beautifully ensuite, lovely range of products ,extremely comfy and thoughtfully set out wigh fridge and dressing table. Outside is beautifully landscaped with lovely areas to sit outside and enjoy a drin. Resterant serves delicious meals with an extensive wine menu. Delicious breakfast was served in the morning. Set in the idilic Village of Clearwell which is a great location for all the Forest of Dean has to offe
The hotel was beautiful. The room was stunning with plenty of towels, and the room itself was lovely and warm. The decor was gorgeous and really well maintained. We were provided with several bottles of water, and also tea and coffee making facilities. The staff were lovely and incredibly helpful. I would 100% recommend staying at The Wyndham, especially if you're attending a wedding at Clearwell Castle.
The staff were so friendly and we loved how quiet the hotel was, we had a room in the main building separate to the main restaurant/bar it was quiet and felt really homey and bespoke even though this wasnt one of the separate cottages, the room is really rustic and cosy. Its the perfect place to unwind and switch off
We were attending a family wedding at Clearwell Castle. We picked the hotel because of how close it was to the castle. It was perfect for what we needed it for. The room was very clean and the en-suite was nice and clean too. Parking was easy and close by.
We received a warm welcome from the staff and the whole hotel site was beautiful. All areas were clean and tidy and tastefully designed.
The rooms were clean and well equipped.
Breakfast was delicious!
