The staff were all lovely, so accommodating always. My mum and I have been twice now and would always go back there. My son was with us once too, and he loved it also. Views are spectacular, and rooms are nice and clean. The beds are so comfy.

The staff were brilliant and always willing to go that extra mile. We asked for an upgrade and it was sorted in minutes. Gavin at reception was exceptional. The breakfast was a choice of continental or full Scottish. We chose the full Scottish and everything was cooked to perfect. Coffee/tea, apple juice and orange juice were available too. Everything served with a chat and a smile.
Dinner can be purchased at £20 per person per day at time of writing.
Our room was a twin and very spacious looking over Port Patrick harbour. You will be blown away..!! The room was warm and clean with tea/coffee making facilities that included Scottish shortbread. It also boasted, iron board and iron, hair dryer, TV with a good mix of channels, suitcase rack and a very handy book on things to do and see in the local area.
The bathroom was also very clean with toiletries in abundance. The shower was strong and easy to use.
The hotel has well stocked bar, bottled and draught also local beer and spirits with reasonable prices, also a poolroom/TV room with games like chess, draughts etc.
Outside the hotel there’s lots of paths for walking with breathtaking views and if your really brave you can walk down the many steps to the harbour area where you will find tennis courts, bowling green, pitch and putt and many other facilities.
A great place to stay if you fancy some fishing either from the harbour or rocks, or there’s many local lochs for trout, pike, perch, etc.
The hotel even let us store our bait in a freezer.
All in all, a very welcoming hotel at very reasonable prices.
Try it, you won’t be disappointed..!!!

We arrived early evening and left about 9.30 the next morning so did not see anything of the place. It was cold, wet, windy and with waves crashing on the rocks and so was not conducive to exploring in what was left of the daylight. In any event, we were only there for one night before moving on.

Rosie on reception was brilliant and so polite.
Rosie on reception was brilliant and so polite. Gave us tips on where to go and what to do, nothing was too much trouble for her.
We will definitely be back. Location is perfect with fantastic sea views too .
Mount Stewart for food and ambience .
Dunskey Castle walk along the coast is lovely, or The Southern Uplands Way on the other stretch of coast .
Take a trip to The Mull of Galloway where you can walk around the lighthouse and go down to where the old foghorn is. Lovely cafe just a bit further down the hill too with amazing views.

Location of the hotel was fabulous.
Location of the hotel was fabulous. Overlooking the Irish sea. You could see Northern Ireland in the distant horizon. Great views from our window.
The hotel I fear has seen better days although the entrance and public areas were fine. The bedrooms are a bit small and well used. Bathrooms could do with a revamp.
I had a request before I arrived( A couple of weeks before). That on our arrival could we have a bottle of celebratory Prosecco or Champaign which I was willing to make payment for in advance. So as to celebrate my partner Karen's 60th birthday. However the message sent back is that they do not have any and it would not be possible. So I asked if they could supply me with some glasses in the room and I would bring the bottle. On arrival there was no glasses. So maybe Booking .com messaging did not work.
The evening meal was not to our taste and therefore we used the following two nights at different establishments in the town.
The Hotel was fantastic with our pet Collie dog and staff very nice. The whole of Port Patrick seems a very dog friendly place. Dog bowls at most lampposts. Great walks from the Hotel along the spectacular cliff tops to Dunskay castle and beyond. On the whole a satisfying and pleasant break.
The dinner
No 4 Portpatrick was a fantastic place to stay. The property is on a quiet street only a few seconds walk from the beach and local amenities.
The room we stayed in was great - well laid out and very comfortable.
The hosts were amazing and extremely helpful, answering all of our questions about the area and giving us some very helpful advice.
Breakfast was brilliant - we had a choice of cooked food, cereals and porridge (or all three!), as well as a range of hot drinks and juice.
Since hotel is on a cliff view was fabulous Of the village and Irish Sea
Apartment was great with own outdoor entry, full kitchen and bathroom
Very clean and everything needed for a few days stay
Restaurant has a varied menu and food was outstanding and reasonably priced
Building is drafty and original windows! But all part of the charm of an 150? Year old building
Oh and dog friendly was another nice touch!
The location of the hotel is fantastic, overlooking Portpatrick and the sea. The bar and lobby look modern and have large windows to admire the view ( although if you don’t get a sea view room, the view is a little depressing). The hotel is a short walk from the harbour and the rest of the town, meaning you can stroll in for food or a drink.
The staff were friendly and helpful, and checked us in quickly.
I love The Harbour House, I am biased but honest. Liked all the 3 nights we were there, the DB&B deal was very good, as was the food and staff. The rooms were great, I think I have stayed in 4 of them up to now.
I cannot find anything wrong with the Hotel or Portpatrick, the surrounding area and walks are breath taking (the southern upland way, starts here)
It was a room in a row of detached cottages next to the hotel which is located on the shorefront. Portpatrick is a beautiful place with lots of good hotels, pubs, and restaurants. Staff were friendly, the room was smallish but had all the features you might need. The breakfast was very good. Everything was clean.
This hotel is in a elevated position overlooking Portpatrick. The staff were very friendly especially the tall male waiter who was very friendly and had a good professional manner a good asset to the hotel. The room was very spacious with a comfortable bed and the food was lovely. I would recommend this hotel.
We were located on the seafront at the harbour, we were greeted by staff at bar on arrival, and shown to our room, breakfast was delicious, varied menu, service very good, we also had our evening meal here twice, good choice given, would recommend this hotel.
A really nice clean hotel, in a great location with friendly, helpful and hardworking staff. Kieran deserves a particular mention.
Portpatrick itself is fabulous, a really great place to stay. The breakfast in the hotel was superb.
lawys visit portpatrick once a year at some point , love this plce if we can get booked in if not we stay at mount stewart hotel, love the self catering at apartment 19 stayed her twice now and hotel 5 times never dissapointed
The Crown in Portpatrick is in a perfect location on the sea front in a beautiful village. The staff were very welcoming and looked after us the whole time we were there. Can not recommend the crown hotel highly enough.
Spacious accommodation, ideal for larger groups. Peaceful location, close to Portpatrick. Lovely bedrooms, good space for sitting and dining. Loads of parking spaces. Really lovely house would happily recommend.
The room was excellent enjoyed having our private balcony. It was clean and very comfortable. Bed was very comfortable and we had a good nights sleep. The view over Portpatrick was to die for.
Lovely hotel have stayed there a few times. No problem with parking, only 30 minutes from ferry terminal. Dog friendly. The restaurant food is very good
for evening meal and breakfast.
