Everything went well. If I had to select one area it would have to be dinner on my first night. The shoulder of lamb pie was superb but so was everything else about my stay. Thank you very much.

Barrow has so much history. It is ideally situated for the lakes and Walney Island is just a stone throw away. The Round House Cafe at Biggar Bank on the island is well worth a visit whatever the weather.

Don't be put off by the area. A few bars for food and drink.
Don't be put off by the area. A few bars for food and drink. It's a perfect base to stay, a short drive to the beautiful lake district and a short trip to the south lakes zoo. Secure parking and a lovely room to relax after your trips out

Lovely area would suit most people.
Lovely area would suit most people. There are hidden gems if you like to explore. Plenty of shopping facilities. Easy to eat out at reasonable prices. The roads are clearly signed and easy to navigate. A great base for either staying in Barrow-in=Furness or travelling around the lakes daily.
A quiet holiday to extreme adventures, your choice is within the Lake District.

Hotel does not provide value for money, much better hotels available for cheaper price. Pockets of good/excellence from staff, but major improvements required in the hospitality food preparation particularly for breakfast, which was extremely dissappointing. Generally, grounds are okay but nothing particularly special, the description and photos, do not accurately reflect the experience.
Would not take much to improve all round, as a number of staff were very nice and supportive.

This place has a really negative aura.
This place has a really negative aura. I can't even explain why but I was anxious while there. We should have booked a stay much closer to the Lakes or at least in Ulverston that is just a stone's throw away.

What a lovely hotel. We were going to Walney Island for a family function and the King Alfred hotel and staff were such a lovely part of our trip. The staff addressed each need we had. We were travelling in a larger group with a one-year old. The staff were so accommodating and pleasant. The rooms were large, warm, and very comfortable. I would also recommend the restaurant. The food was excellent and the portions were enormous. Also, be sure to visit the adult play park just down the road. That was a fun!
Sympathetically decorated in character of the building, with just a few details left to complete, the interior has been worked on tirelessly by the relatively new owners (trades still hard to find, Covid-19)
Once the exterior of this hotel is complete, this personal, warm and cozy hotel, with only 4 rooms, is soon to be a gem of a place. and will stand as a proud individual building ranking easily as one of the best in the area, and one which I will visit again.
Well done Victoria House.
Oscars bar was brilliant, the food was lovely and even though we were sat in the bar we were still treated the same as the restaurant guests. This meal was the highlight.
The grounds were nice and it was a good escape and nice distance from Barrow in Furness, we briefly visited the town but didn't like it there, was very different to the hotel.
The staff were all very friendly.
The breakfast the following day was very well done and great service.
Nice QUIET Hotel on the road out of Barrow in Furness a mile or so from the town centre. Free parking in large carpark. Nice large room and bathroom (we were offered a FREE room upgrade which a lovely surprise). Handy for the Furness Peninsula and Lake District National Park. A short walk from the Furness Abbey ancient monument.
Can't fault anything ,but as it's only been open 3 years ,I'd expect nothing less in quality , ideal location to what night life barrow does have and literally on the doorstep of barrow forum for concerts and shows , also car parking provided on site ,but also a large public one right opposite the hotel
Really nice hotel, was upgraded upon arrival which was a nice bonus for our weekend away. Bar and restaurant was good, food was exceptional and reasonably priced. Would recommend staying here to anyone and was only 20mins from Windermere and a lot cheaper too.
Whole hotel and restaurant looked like it had just been re-furbished. Very quick check in and you couldnt be more central in barrow. We had pre-paid for 2 breakfasts each and these were brought up to the room on our first night to stay in the fridge for us.
The cooked breakfast was excellent.
This hotel is in a good place for touring the south west area of Cumbria. It is a good 35 minute walk into Barrow but there is a regular bus service that stops right outside the hotel
Great a-la cart breakfast. The guest room is very big. The hotel is located in the city center (very good location) and there is a big parking lot just opposite to the main entrance which is very convenient for traveler.
the whole 3 bedroom house was at our disposal. nice location, close to barrow in furness city center. Eating options are close by, specially the Turkish restaurant Kapadokia was outstanding.
Great Friendly- polite Staff, Location, clean tidy room. Unbelievably cheap Price. Simply Great.... Simply Great. I will book again and will refer all my family- Friends. Thanks
The friendly service when I came to the hotel was very good.
The apartments were in a good location for BAE and town centre.
Internet was great for me to carry out my work
Really impressed by the price and the quality of the hotel. Staff were great and we were checked in super quickly. Hotel was very clean and had everything you'd require.
The 2 things that are good about this hotel are the staff who were fantastic and the location of the hotel to the town centre and routes to the lake district itself.
It's cheap. It's not a luxury hotel, but a cheap one, so the problems were OK. Lack of hot water was ok for the 3 nights I stayed there. Staff friendly and helpful.
The room was a very good size, lovely a warm when I arrived, easy to access and find.
Facilities were good, all the usual you’d expect from a hotel/B&B.
