Room was clean but the bed was a little saggy. Apart from that it was good. Wedding party was a little loud.

The communication was great as they had to change my booking twice. I then didn't really know what to expect but it was just one night after a gig at The LCR. It was clean, comfortable and quiet and the staff member we met was quick (we were running very late) and helpful. We had free car parking and went to the sports park for breakfast.

Once an important medieval trading centre, Norwich remains a popular shopping destination. The Chapelfield centre is the newest addition, whereas a historic shop sells the city’s most famous export: Colman’s Mustard. Castle Mall is underground, in a hill topped with a keep, part of the 12th-century castle founded by William the Conqueror.
Dating to the same era is the large cobbled square housing a 6-day market. It was said that Norwich had a church for every week, and while that is no longer true, over 30 medieval churches still exist. The cathedral was built using stone from Normandy and boasts England’s 2nd largest cloisters and 2nd tallest spire.
Colourful medieval façades line Elm Hill and the Guildhall is another fine example of the period. Half-timbered Dragon Hall was a trading hall, while St Andrew’s and Blackfriars Halls constitute England’s most intact friary. The 14th-century Cow Tower sits by the River Wensum upstream from Pulls Ferry, the train station and Norwich City FC.
Reportedly, Norwich once had a pub for every day, and today’s traditional inns and modern bars are certainly popular with the student population. Other entertainment options include the Theatre Royal and Playhouse.
Norwich accommodation on Booking.com includes historic hotels with pools, city centre guest houses and riverside apartments, all near to Norwich Airport.
Tombland area was pleasant
The cathedral was utterly beautiful
However the city in general looked tatty, dirty and uncared for.
The rubbish bins overflowed
The graffiti was everywhere
The hen and stag parties were lewd and loud.
The pubs were shabby and over crowded
There seems to be a dearth of good restaurants and bars.
Overall..very disappointing.
The city looked neglected and we were very disappointed.

City is not the quaint picture postcard cobbled streets you imagine. Sadly the closure of major department stores in the centre gives feeling of neglect. Every street has empty premises. Major fast food outlets dominate and individual restaurants hard to find. Cathedral and its area is beautiful and well maintained. Street market jaded and short of shops. Locally owned Jarrold store worth a visit. Buses to outlining areas very good. Parking for cars difficult as in any city. Local people are very welcoming and stay can be used as centre for visiting the Norfolk Broads and outlying areas.

Such a historic, rich, cultural place which was greatly enhanced for me by staying in the Colegate area with it's historic churches, squares, and leafy river walks . Else where there are two cathedrals and also public and private galleries where I saw some excellent exhibitions. There is an independent cinema with a very good art house movie programme constantly being updated and a beautiful bar. There are many wonderful cafes where you can chill with high quality beverages and patisseries. There is also the plantation Garden which I shall reserve for my next visit and the Castle Museum and Art Gallery with it's lovely gardens. The shopping is also very good.

We loved that it was a walkable town.
We loved that it was a walkable town. It had many options to keep us entertained...and to keep us fed !
There was only one area that we walked thru that was a little sketchy...otherwise we felt very safe walking around!
This is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. Perfect location with the city centre in walking distance, yet incredibly quiet. My room was a little haven, superbly comfortable bed, tastefully decorated, plenty of power sockets and storage for clothes - and luxury of luxuries, a bath! Hotel food can be very hit and miss but here it is outstanding. But the best thing about the George is the staff, e wry single one of whom are welcoming, friendly and incredibly helpful.
Ideally situated not far from the city centre and my place of work and near two supermarkets and eateries, quiet location, good communication with the host, friendly and quiet other tenants, beautiful and comfortable bedroom. Although I am more of a bath person, using the excellent shower was not a problem. The availability of shampoo and shower gel was a nice touch. Most of all: it is such a luxury to have the use of a kitchen that of course hotels never provide!
Delightful hotel which is very old and furnished in a sympathetic style suiting the hotel. Staff were amazingly attentive, nothing was too much trouble. The cooked breakfast was delicious as were the self service items such as cereal, juice etc. Although off the beaten track, it is only 3-4 miles from Norwich City centre which is ideal if you want to stay in secluded peace and quiet in the evening. Getting a taxi into the city centre was quick and easy!
Excellent staff, all very friendly and nothing was too much trouble to sort out. Food was first class and the whole ambience of the hotel was so welcoming.Given the hotel's age, all alterations had been carefully thought through and did not detract from the history of the building. Location was excellent for the Cathedral and the city generally, just a short walk to anywhere central. An excellent idea to have a hotel provided i pad in your room too!
Great location in the city centre, very near the Theatre Royal. The building itself is stunning and our room (Room 11) was beautiful. The bed was very comfortable, lovely toiletries and fantastic shower, plenty of room in a historic part of the house. The food was very good and beautifully presented. The staff were all great and nothing was too much trouble for any of them. We would definitely consider staying there again if we were in Norwich.
five of us stayed for my daughters graduation. At the very last minute i phoned them to say can we have one room as early check in which they obliged with no problems . We booked into the hotel restaurant for dinner at 9pm, the food service and drinks were excellent. we all had a wonderful time but a great breakfast the following morning. The hotel although in the country is near Norwich city centre/Uni and very near the Park and Ride.
Our room was spacious and clean . The buffet breakfast was very good with plenty of choice and very well presented. We had an evening meal in the restaurant which was excellent. The swimming pool was a good size. The hotel is really close to a Park & Ride which makes travelling into Norwich City centre really easy. We really enjoyed our stay and would like to return.
An absolute gem of a hotel, well located on the edge of the city centre and with free parking. The staff are, without exception, excellent. They are polite, friendly and professional. The hotel has a lovely, welcoming vibe about it and the food is excellent, as are the beds, shower, bar and wifi. You won't find better value and service anywhere.
The hotel was ideally located for us. Just on the edge of the city centre (some 10 min walk) with plenty of parking. The hotel's policy is to allow the car to stay there until the end of the day of check-out giving more time to enjoy Norwich.
It is also served by direct bus routes from railway station and city centre.
The house was clean and had everything we needed during our one week stay, and having a washing machine was a bonus. Location is great! The street has a few places to eat and get coffee. Short walk into main downtown of Norwich. Kenny, our host was fast to respond when I had questions.
Location is very good. Beds were fine. Basically the cheapest hotel in Norwich and it's only for a night so did the job. Fulfilled our request with the beds and the staff were alright. Basically as a hotel which you only use to sleep in for a couple nights max its sound.
This was a cosy, very clean, comfortable hotel. The customer service was outstanding, the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was exceptionally clean. The restaurant menu choice and food was amazing. Beautiful hotel.
Really enjoyed our stay, bit pricey though for what is a standard hotel, especially when there is such limited parking. We were lucky to get the very last space. The Staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful.
The apartment was roomier than I expected, larger than a basic studio apartment and better than a hotel room for the same cost. It was spotlessly clean and well situated for the city centre pubs and restaurants.
The room we had was very nice and spacious just very warm, we had some bathrobes and they came very handy when we used the spa. the breakfast was good just you need to book a time that's unusual for a hotel
Very welcoming. The hotel is well positioned for visiting Norfolk broads, Norwich and several NT properties. Good value accomodations and breakfast. We had a lovely time.
Stunning decor. Spacious, clean room. Easy location and in walking distance to the city centre. Friendly staff. Easy and quick check- in and check out. Love this hotel!
