The property was well maintained, beautifully decorated and very clean. The owners Ivor and Natalia seem to have everything you could think of well organised and were super friendly. Absolutely loved our stay here and didn’t want the 2 nights to end. Great location to go off and explore elsewhere in Cornwall. The breakfast is fresh made to order per person and it was absolutely divine! We will definitely be back!

St Austell is a great base to explore Cornwall. The town isn't fantastic, but it's 5 minutes from the Eden Project, also 5 minutes to Charlestown , an historic and interesting harbour, Mevagissey is very near, and it's near to several beaches.

Many interesting places to visit. Lovely coastline with quaint villages. Mevagissey, Fowey, The Lost Gardens of Heligan and The Eden project are must sees! I shopped in St Austell itself. A good variety of shops, in interesting streets and lanes.

We stayed in Mevagissey which is south of StAustel. St Austel is not the best place to visit in Cornwall and is a little run down but there are promises that efforts are being made to improve its image and facilities.

the people are very friendly.the scenery is amazing and carlyon bay and charlestown are amazing.we chose to eat in the hotel because the food is fresh cooked and excellent.we dont drive so we used cabs which were a reasonable price.lots of places inreasonable walking distance.in my opinion there were no places or things to avoid.
Breakfast was exceptional - good variety on menu and well presented. The room was very comfortable and spacious. The location was convenient for walking into the town centre and the hotel made a good base for visiting attractions such as Charlestown, Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan as well as resorts of Mevagissy and the Padstow area. Our hosts were friendly, helpful and knowlegeable about the area
The rooms are large and comfortable. The Breakfast is particularly good as the bacon and sausage seemed local. It was convenient for us that the hotel is also a pub as there were evening meals on site. It was standard pub food but cooked well so I would eat there again. We didn't get any noise from the pub as its in a different part of the building.
Breakfast was generous - and fresh fruit was lovely.
For evening meals, the Kings Arms is a short walk away, and does good beer and decent pub food.
For an alternative to pubs, try the Salty Bay Pizza place, a couple of miles away, and very nice pizza and salad
- The location was excellent for us. Lovely view of the bay, close to a nice and long sandy beach and close to different other sites to visit.
- The staff was friendly and always courteous, good manners and accommodating. Real asset for the hotel.
Exceptional hotel and restaurant. Very clean and tidy. Rooms were large, well decorated and clean. Evening meal was fabulous. Great menu with great chefs and staff. Would recommend. Good value for Monday. Will definitely stay again.
The location is amazing, short walk to charlestown, and the nearby beach, which is beautiful, and the veiw from the hotel is incredible, pizza from the resteraunt is great, the bar isn't overpriced and the breakfast is good.
Located at rear of a residential bungalow in a Residential district, about a mile out of town centre. Close to lovely Carylon Bay, has a long sandy beach with great facilities.
The hotel was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room we stayed in was very spacious and comfortable and the housekeeping was excellent
