Superb cottage, comfy, clean and beautiful Yorkshire Dale's surroundings. Right on the Dales Way trail which joined up with the Pennine Way. Lots of wildlife and different walks. The cottage had plenty of information for the surrounding area....

Property info

Situated in the remote heart of the Yorkshire Dales, reconnect with nature and enjoy the complete peace and tranquility of our sustainable wildlife haven and long term conservation project at Nethergill Farm. We have two self catering haylofts available to guests - Byre and Hay Mew. Part of an original stone barn built in 1871 with cowshed (or shippon) below, Byre and Hay Mew have been sympathetically converted into comfortable, quirky haylofts on 3 levels. Many of the original beams are still in situ and the windows look out over moorland, woodland, fell, cobbled yard, and/or the farmyard. Both cottages are tastefully decorated and with a fully equipped kitchen, 2 bathrooms, separate WC and Smart TV. You can warm yourself up after a bracing hike up the fells in front of the wood burner or central heating provided by our biomass boiler.

Neighborhood info

Situated on the Dales Way and set in the heart of our sustainable wildlife and conservation project at Nethergill Farm, rolling countryside can be seen from all aspects of the cottage On the farm, we have a whole range of activities: * Meet our chickens and collect eggs for breakfast. * Nature and bird watching from our 2 observation hides. * Fly fishing in Oughtershaw Beck, which meanders in front of the farmhouse. * Walk the Dales Way from your doorstep. * Stargazing - we are a Dark Sky Friendly Business situated in the Yorkshire Dales Dark Sky Reserve and can provide equipment and advice on how to best see the sky at night. There are lots of public footpaths from your doorstep with the Dales Way running straight past your window. A car is necessary to get the most out of your stay, especially if you would like to visit local attractions, such as the market town of Hawes only 15 minutes drive away, home to the Wensleydale Creamery; Grassington with its cobbled streets and independent shops 25 minutes drive away; Skipton with its castle and cobbled streets 45 minutes drive away. Hardraw Falls is about 20 minutes drive away and Aysgarth Falls is about 30 minutes drive
