We loved the room so much! It was open, airy, spacious, comfortable, very accommodating, quiet and tranquil. I was massively surprised at how accurate the reviews were. It seemed like a gamble at first, taking my 3 nieces away with me and my husband, thinking they might complain- but they absolutely loved it! So did I. I loved the rustic theme, the fact there were so many beds to choose from- the location of the toilet was perfect for me. I liked that the toilet was so old school using chippings rather than water. There were wild chickens roaming which was super cute. We got to sit and have a campfire going (we brought our own fire wood) and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We went to Alton Towers theme park over the course of two days and the location was brilliant for that. There is also a garage just down the road (kinda need a car) which was handy for snack/food and milk etc.

It was basic, rustic and eco-friendly, everything that it promised to be. I had my daughter with me and I thought she might bulk a bit at the accommodation as sleeping in a barn and compost toilets were not in her world. At first she was a bit taken aback but then she loved it and asked if we could come back and visit again. The views and the farm animals were a very positive feature of our stay.

A great place to stay for a few days if you like camping, but don't want the hassle of setting up the tent!! Barn was lovely and clean and surprisingly comfortable and warm. There are cooking and washing up facilities, electric cooker, toaster and electric fire and the fridge freezer is a much welcome bonus. Toilets and shower are basic and functional as you would expect. It took the kids a while to work out compost toilets !!😄 We didn't see the owners, but we didn't need to, everything is set out and explained via laminated instructions, which is great during this pandemic. There is ample parking, a paddock and undercover outside areas to sit in. The kids loved toasting marshmallow on the firepit and the proximity to Alton Towers (20 mins) and other local attractions is great. There are loads of local shops, Asda, Morrisons, Aldi and Lidl. We had a lot of rain so being able to pack up without having to strike a tent and then dry it when home was a godsend.

Lovely place and friendly welcome. We had everything we needed in the room and enough space for us all. It was nice to be greeted by the chickens too. We loved the cozy little under cover area in the evening and it was great to have the car parked right outside so we could unload. We found the beds were comfortable too. A lot of character here and we would definitely recommend

Despite it being a barn, it was very cosy. The barn had a lot more than we expected, fridge, cooker, microwave, toaster, kettle, all sorts. The electricity which is available on a paid meter basis, lasts ages. We only put £1 in the barn and it lasted us the whole evening and morning. Pleasant stay and local to lots of shops. Definitely recommend.

It was as was described. It was quirky, unique, great value for money, great location-within 20mins walk feom the town yet views looking over the countryside. My hubby and I loved it especially the compost toilets. We’d definitely recommend too barn over bottom barn due to the toilets and undercover sitting area. These were great. It was very kind of Alison to have the fire set up on both nights so we only needed to provide the logs. Hubby and I would definitely return, our kids are spoiled and prefer the finer things so would perhaps vote differently!

Location was perfect for heading to Alton towers. It was also within walking distance to lots of restaurants and bars and shops. Absolutely loved it! The lady who welcomed us was lovely and made us feel really at home. We had a private toilet and fire pit and the shower facilities were absolutely fine considering it was in a barn. Super quirky and a beautiful location we will definitely be back!
