The small community of Gosforth situated amongst magnificent Lakeland landscape and consists of a scattering of mediaeval cottages, farm homes, and pubs offering decent food. The community forges links far back into the history books and proudly shows the tallest, and oldest Viking Cross in England, and the church has many treasures not least the spectacular Hogsback Tombs. Some of England's highest mountains, including Scafell and Great Gable and Hard Knott and Harter Fell and Muncaster Fell are nearby, as are some of its most beautiful valleys. You can visit Muncaster Castle, the World Owl Centre, and the Ravenglass to Eskdale miniature train, among other places. This fantastic location provides everything for everyone.
