Hotel in Windermere
In a most spectacular location on the shores of England’s longest lake, Windermere, Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa is the Lake District’s first resort offering a number of facilities. Low Wood Bay is a very special place set in a magical location. The hotel and staff far exceeded our expectations. Breakfast was a highlight, with attentive and friendly staff led by Chad, one of the most welcoming and well-informed managers we have ever met. He was so kind and seemed genuinely interested in making sure we had a fantastic experience, including sharing tips of some of the best spots to visit in the Lakes. Special mention also to F&B supervisor Michael who was very professional and hard-working. He did not stop! The only problem with Low Wood is they have two exceptional restaurants, which meant we didn't really explore anywhere else- the food was too good! Reception staff were also very welcoming and even organised a balloon and chocolates for our special occasion- this topped off a perfect stay. We were very sad to leave.

Amazing place with lots to do, bowness lake was lovely! Windermere hotel was not up to my standard for the price, poor old carpets, skirten boards had seen there day, very run down hotel, bed was the worst I think I had a bout 4 hours sleep. I will not return unless it’s has a revamp and is more clean.
My favourite places were Orsetts head, Brockhole gardens, Wray castle( the view was stunning and the joey's cafe on the site is top notch) and catching the ferry back from lake windermere. Food Cafe Italia is 100%, I was a lone diner and they treated me well and their food was tasty! Transport I don't drive so Icycled everywhere. The bus services are pretty good when you figure out where you can get them from.
Windermere is truly an enchanting place to visit. It has everything you could possibly require IE A beautiful lake with an assortment of different boats to hire or just tour the lake.so many shops to get lost in just a beautiful place to be.
It is best place to stay to cover lake districts given the fact that it is perfect sized town, last train station in Lake District and nothing much far in that town. You can get day trips to Lakes, Yorkshire dales and other places if you plan in advance, it perfect long weekend place.
My husband and I adore the Lake District, we go every year to celebrate our anniversary. We base ourselves in Windermere, and travel to wherever we want to visit, but we love Windermere, there are restaurants to suit everyone's tastes ( and pockets), pubs and cafe's, and a marvellous eclectic mix of shops. If you walk down to the Lake, as you get near the bottom of the hill you will pass an ice-cream shop, selling the best ice-cream ever. Whatever you do in Windermere, ENJOY.
Windermere was beautiful, although very busy and found it impossible to find a place to eat on Saturday afternoon, so I would advise anyone to book a restaurant in advance. The ferry are reasonably priced and nice to do.
Room was spacious and clean. The bed was lovely and comfortable. Staff were amazing, friendly and efficient. Had breakfast in the room, it was delicious and worth the extra cost. The location suited us as it was easy walking distance into Bowness and Windermere . We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary during our stay and our son rang them to arrange for some drinks when we arrived back at the hotel, they wrote a card out for us and made it a lovely occasion.
Station Lodge was ideally located in the center of Windermere close to shops, restaurants and amenities. Bowness on Windermere is a 30 minute walk which we done Saturday evening. Our room was clean and comfortable. Coffee/Tea facilities were available. We used the leisure facilities at choices health club which was an amazing perk to the hotel stay!! Amazing stay we cannot to book again Thanks Liam for your amazing customer service.
Windermere
Booked as a last minute getaway. The location was excellent with ample parking and situated approximately halfway between Windermere and Bowness, around a 15 min walk from each. The room was a really good size, clean and excellently presented. The hosts were friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was excellent with a range of options available. I would highly recommend this property, we both loved our stay!
Windermere
This very small room has a little kitchenette making self catering possible if you are able to operate in a small spaces . Parking at the door was useful as we were able to leave our suitcases in the car boot . The room isn't big enough to have 2 regular suitcases inside . A suitable room for an overnight stay in Windermere centre close to shops and Restaurants .
The decor and facilities were attractive and thoughtfully planned. My room was clean and comfortable, the bathroom cleverly laid out for a small space. The breakfast menu was imaginative, and the food of very good quality. For anyone travelling by bus or train, the location is a big advantage, as the Windermere railway station and bus terminus is just minutes away.
Had 2 rooms booked at the hotel, Room 15 Double Room amd Room 17 Family Suite. Both rooms were lovely, Room 17 Family Suite was really spacious even with tje aofa bed made up. Location is excellent, just past the bars, shops of Windermere and 20 min walk to Bowness. Bus stops outside hotel. Breakfasts lovely especially the poached eggs :)
Windermere
Great location between Windermere and Bowness, so easily walkable to both towns if you don't mind a bit of a hill. Room was very clean with updated bathroom/shower. Bed was exceptionally comfortable and wifi was great. Very much appreciated they are still adhering to Covid protocals as I needed to test before returning home.

This traditional Lakeland former hunting lodge occupies one of the best positions overlooking lake Windermere. The hotel stands secluded in it's own beautiful well maintained grounds and offers a variety of accommodation options. The restaurant food is of a high standard, and the service from all the hotel staff is exceptional
Brilliant team running the hotel, all very friendly. we loved the personal touch with a handwritten anniversary card. The spa facility is fantastic, and the food overall in bar & restaurant was top quality every time. The location is amazing with fabulous views right across Lake Windermere. We can’t wait to book again!

The spa. Well worth staying at the hotel and paying for it. The corridors are a little dated but the rooms are fantastic. Great location….very close to Windermere and Ambleside/Bowness.
