We are situated in the middle of Etchingham village, just a 5 minute walk along the pavement to the mainline train station to London or down to Hastings on the coast. The oak framed building is separate from our house and you have private parking off the road. The room is self contained and guests have a key to come and go as they please! Rosebank B&B is a perfect base for exploring the East Sussex/Kent borders and all the National Trust properties and gardens that this beautiful area of England has to offer eg we are half way between Sissinghurst Gardens and Great Dixter and very close to Batemans and Bodiam Castle. Continental breakfast is provided in your room for whenever you want to get up in the morning. Also provided are tea/coffee facilities (Nespresso machine) and small silent fridge and microwave. We have a sofabed which we charge extra per night to make up for an extra person, this includes continental breakfast.
My name is Kate and I run Rosebank B&B with help of my husband James (and occasionally our 3 teenage daughters!) We have a dog, Albi, who we enjoy walking in the beautiful countryside around Etchingham, an area of outstanding natural beauty. Being foodies we love to visit local pubs for delicious food, Harveys Bitter and local English wines. Please see my website for pub/restaurant recommendations and places to visit in the area.
We are 10 miles from Sissinghurst and Great Dixter or much nearer Pashley Manor Gardens (and it amazing tulip festival) and Merriments Gardens only 4 miles away. Lots of National Trust properties to explore, Batemans in Burwash, Bodiam Castle and Scotney Castle Gardens all on our doorstep. The historic Battle Abbey in Battle is famous for where the Battle of Hastings 1066 took place. We have lots of local wineries nearby where you can book wine tours eg Chapel Down in Tenterden, Oxney Organic Estate in Beckley and Seddlescombe Organic Vineyard 10 minutes drive away. Bedgebury Pinetum is 5 miles away in Flimwell, the perfect place for walks and cycle trails and the adventurous Go Ape in the treetops! Bedgebury houses the largest selection of pine trees in Europe. Bewl Water at Ticehurst has a new restaurant and just opened up this year is a huge inflatable play area on the water! If you're looking for shopping and culture Royal Tunbridge wells with the famous Pantiles is 10 miles north and if its the beach you're after then Hastings or the famous Camber Sands 10 miles to the south. I would suggest visiting Rye whilst down there, an ancient Port Cinque Town steeped in history.
