There is so much to do in Bridport.

There is so much to do in Bridport. There are many pubs and restaurants and events. There is even a street market twice a week and a good variety of shops. Everything is within walking distance or you can take a bus. The beach is less than 2 miles away. Lots of hotels. Many charity shops. Very safe and friendly with narrow streets and oldie worldly charm and architecture. Good night life with theatre and music events to attract all ages. Good surrounding countryside for walks and pub meals. There is even a guided walk round the brewery.

There are so many places of interest both in and around Bridport. In the town itself there are plenty of places to both eat and drink. The buses take you to most of the surrounding places both big and small. But there are also very reasonable taxi services. Walking around Bridport is a joy as there are so many things to see and it has an interesting history. I can't think of any places I'd avoid.

Our stay was in West Bay just over a mile from Bridport.

Our stay was in West Bay just over a mile from Bridport. West Bay offers several choices of restaurant each offering local sea food. With its picturesque harbour there is plenty to see and do. From deep sea fishing trips to catching crabs or small fish around the harbour and pier. The cliff walks are spectacular as are the walks along the coastal paths. There are swimming pools in and around West Bay along with squash, badminton, tennis and table tennis facilities.

Great choice of pubs and restaurants in town, any staff I encountered were excellent. There’s a cinema, museum and plenty of independent shops for wet days. Decent bus service too to other places including Weymouth, Dorchester, Lyme Regis and Axminster.

Bridport is a nice little town with friendly people.

Bridport is a nice little town with friendly people. We like micro-brewery beer and there is a nice brewery in Bridport that gives great tours. We really wanted to visit West Bay and that was close and very nice. The whole area is very scenic.

It’s like one of those cute little inns you read about or see in the movies. My partner and I were the youngest people staying there which was kinda funny. But it was so lovely there, and comfortable. All the staff were extremely friendly and made our stay even more enjoyable. The breakfasts were all great and I do wish we could’ve had it on our last day but our train was early in the morning. I will definitely stay at this place again if we do go back to Dorset!!

Location is so handy for the centre of Bridport and walk to West Bay. We stayed for a week and we had a bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. Accomdation is clean, tidy, comfortable and hosts are excellent. This is bed only but we had been left all the necessary for our first morning along with a few welcome extras including eggs. Parking is also fairly easy. This was our second visit and we will definitely stay again.

We loved the decor of the house. The conservatory and garden were lovely at night with the outdoor lighting. The location is great, very quiet little neighbourhood only 5 minutes walk from a SPAR and 10 minutes walk from West Bay. Upon arrival we were left lots of goodies and essentials to keep us going until we could get to a supermarket - and some treats were left for our dog which was greatly appreciated by her!

The room was cosy and comfortable (especially the bed), the breakfast options were great and tasty, and the host was welcoming and had lots of local recommendations! The property itself is in a great location for driving to lots of Dorset highlights, and walking down to West Bay is also possible. There is nothing to complain about - we had a lovely stay!

Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was above expectation, spacious, tidy and cleaned every day. Location was also fantastic - middle of Bridport high street. Plenty to do within walking distance. Only a 5 minute drive to West Bay Parking was not onsite but in a car park a 3 minute walk away- Parking for 24 hours was £2.80 which is very reasonable.

Fantastic week at the cottage, very peaceful, very private, great position, near enough to town, good bus links to weymouth and Lyme regis, easy walk to west bay. If we go back to this part of Dorset again this cottage would be the first place on our list to stay.

An old Hotel with “gems” appropriate to modern thinking and enlightened attitudes to service and facilities in contrast to the origins of the building. The restful location makes it easy for walkers to access West Bay and Bridport
